I recently visited this office for a pain in my knee. I was registered lightning fast then off to the waiting room. Great, here goes an hour or so! I even brought a textbook to study from. Well, two minutes later, they checked over my paperwork to make sure it was all in order and within 5 minute I was in the x-ray room getting films made.
Another 5 min - with the doctor AND the films in the exam room. Fantastic!
They sent me for an MRI which was scheduled for a Friday night. I left myself a note to call the dr Mnday morning to make an appt - by 8:45am they were calling MY house to schedule since they knew my MRI was done. Wow! They called me!!
I was in that week to see the doctor and they were just as efficient again!
Plus, Dr Avioli is very kind and knowledgable. Left me with lots of options that I could discuss and see what I want to do in the future.
Awesome awesome awesome!

I love a doctor that is a no nonsense kind of guy. No beating around the bush or wasting time. But.. They also need a good bedside manner! Dr Steve is the perfect combination of these. He is an excellent family medicine doc as well as a vat of great referrals – he has never steered us wrong once! The staff, including nurses, front desk, and lab has always been very kind and helpful. Appointments usually run behind but I’ve come to expect that at most docs these days.

Good pizza and ok Italian are available at Portofinos. I thought everything there was ok – not spectacular but not horrible. If I had a gift certificate, I would use it but don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. I’m very picky about my Italian food! Mostly, I like a good red sauce and this place didn’t have it. Service was fine and prices were average.

Located across from Southpark Mall, this Harris Teeter was actually named one of the five things you need to visit in Charlotte. A monstrous grocery store with all kinds of items available: there is hot food ready to go, custom made-to-order pasta and sandwiches, a huge salad bar, and an entire case of ready-made meals to choose from! The even have two deli cases – one for upscale items. The baked goods are everywhere and fresh artisan bread is available. The fish market in back is extensive with new fresh catch items daily. It’s also a regular grocery store too less I forget. Just beware of the shoppers that think their sh** don’t stink – they’re in abundance there!

I love Mexican food. There are numerous little Mexican restaurants all around which I really enjoy but this time, I decided to try out the new chain restaurant in town. It started off great with huge, homemade tortilla chips but went downhill from there. The atmosphere was lousy – we thought being on the patio would be great but it was as if we were sitting in the middle of the employee’s lounge – one was sitting across from us calling about apartments from her cell phone the entire time. Others were racing cars in the parking lot and yelling to each other. The meal has very little authenticity – it was as if they were afraid to use any spice. I’ll stick with the locals from now on.

While on vacation in Sarasota, we went to DaRuMa for an early dinner. It was in a desolate shopping area right on the water. It was strange for this type of place to be so dead based on its awesome location. Either way, we had a wonderful dinner of Japanese hibachi-style cooking while overlooking the ocean from an elevated view. The staff was extremely courteous and the food was delicious. Prices were decent – nothing too great or shocking.

It’s as if someone’s grandmother came over from a European bakery and started baking in this small shop in Lakewood. Absolutely fantastic stuff! They have a great selection of your typical eastern European bakery items – Danish, kolatchky, cinnamon rolls, and more including cookies, brownies, etc. The cinnamon pull apart bread with the cream cheese frosting is so good, you’ll keep on eating it even after you’re sick from eating so much! Everything is fresh, prices are right, staff is awesome!

Many years ago, there used to be a Danny Boys pizza across from St Edwards in Lakewood. It was there I had my first woogie bear and became a life-long fan. Then they were gone. One day, I came across a listing for a Danny Boys in Rocky River. I called them and asked if they served something called a Woogie Bear and they said yes!!! Like a calzone, it is the best bang for your buck and completely delicious! Go there on Sinatra night and get free breadsticks for answering an ol’ blue eyes trivia question. Place gets packed quickly – it’s tiny but well worth the wait!

A staple in my family for many years, George’s kitchen offers some really good food at incredible prices. They are terrific for breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. Be sure to try out the fish fry on Fridays. A very accommodating restaurant (we often took our wheelchair-bound grandfather with us and they would arrange a special table) and extremely friendly staff. They take price in getting to know your name and your “usual” order. A wonderful, family-owned and oriented place!

We stopped in here with a B1G1 coupon hoping it wasn’t going to be like our disappointing experience at the Marble Slab. Wow were we taken by surprise! The size we had to get was only 3.50 and it was as if each of us was served about ½ gallon of ice cream in a bowl. We decided to take the ice cream continue our shopping… all through Target, all through LNT, and more. By the time I got to Walmart, I couldn’t do it anymore. I had to give the rest of it up. Flavors to choose from are great and service was awesome. Will definitely repeat!
