This Waldenbooks is kind of on the small side, compared to other locations I have visited. Because of this, it may be hard to find anything other than mainstream books on the shelves. The prices tend towards the high side, so I don’t find myself shopping there, unless I need something faster than overstock can ship it. The service is friendly, and they are always willing to help you locate what you need. So if you are looking for a friendly touch, I would suggest this location.

Streets of New York is a fun place to have a nice pizza lunch. I like their pies with the meat on them. They are a bit different than your standard pepperoni and sausage type, but they do not disappoint. You can also opt for a nice meatball sandwich. This is only for lunch if you plan on taking a nap at your desk afterward, but that doesn’t sound too bad anyway. The service is good, the area is clean, and is easy to find a parking space.

Sprouts is another store that I like to shop at. Like Sunflower Market, they feature a small supply of organic produce, but a fine supply of hormone free, and pesticide free meat. I also enjoy their body products section. The prices are high if there are no sales, but sales can yield some excellent deals. If you are looking to juice some oranges in citrus season, you can find deals like 9 pounds of oranges for 99 cents! Yikes! That is a lot of juice. I highly suggest this location. It is in an area near the mall, and is clean and inviting.

Sunflower Market is another store that I like to shop at. They have a smallish organic produce section, but I can usually pick up my staple items anyway. There are some great sales advertised in their weekly mail flyer. They start anew on each Wednesday and allow you to use the ad from the prior week as well as the new one, on Wednesdays. If you don’t care if things are organic, you will find some spectacular deals. I like the meat department. Their meats are advertised as being hormone and pesticide free (not organic.) Since organic meat is out of my range for meat, I like the compromise to hormone free. They have friendly service, and the store is generally very clean.

Tuesday Morning is a place I can spend all of my money. I am a bargain shopper, and can idle away hours in their aisles. There is a great selection of bathroom décor, towels, and sheets. I will visit this place to find unusual gifts, fun décor and candles. I always walk out with something, and it is always a great deal. For even better deals, check the clearance areas, as there are some super deals if you don’t mind digging around for them. One could be put off by the store at times, because it can get a little disorganized. For me, I find even more adventure as I wade through all the piles in search of the next great deal. Highly suggested!

Pei Wei is a new addition to the neighborhood. The location is ideal for me, so I decided to give it a try. I found the food to be a little pricey for lunch. The food was not bad, but not the best Asian food that I have eaten. The atmosphere is upbeat, and trendy, and there always seems to be a nice buzz in the room. The location was clean and there is plenty of parking, as the eatery shares a parking lot with a grocery store. I would say to try it, and see what you think. You could do a lot worse.

This Walgreens is the one I usually frequent. It is close to home, and usually has what I am looking for. I love their rebate program. They have a flyer every month that lists the deals that are featured. The specials on the prices are advertised in the weekly ad. By cutting coupons and planning properly, I get many items for free, and in many cases, I get paid to buy the items. Sound odd? Well, with a $3 rebate on a $3 item, you are just paying tax. Then, if I have a $1 coupon, I save that as well, so I am actually getting paid to buy the item. Hate cutting UPC's and keeping all the receipts together? No problem, as they never ask for UPC’s. You just fill out their form, and send in all the rebates and receipts in 1 envelope. Poof. Done. Money shows up, on schedule, every month!

When we were in Alaska last year, we happened to be traveling on my husband's birthday. We usually eat sushi on the birthdays, so we went looking for a sushi joint in downtown Anchorage. We found Yamaya's. It was the cutest little place I have ever had sushi. It was smallish, and packed to the gills, with locals. So we knew we were in the right place. We dined under a forest of hanging plants, that decorated the restaurant. It was refreshing.
All of the sushi was perfectly fresh, and very tasty. We ate till we were growing our own gills. I highly suggest Anchorage in the summer, and this sushi place.

We got to stay here last year on our vacation, and it was wonderful. The rooms were nice sized, and very clean. The service everywhere was great and attentive. There was a breakfast and dinner buffet, and it had great food. We even got to have some wine with dinner! This is a step up from some other continental breakfasts and dinners. We got to make belgian waffles, and have fresh scrambled eggs. To add to all this-- we had free wireless internet. It was fast and easy to hook onto. We had an especially nice last night, as out our window, we could see the Northern Lights. If you stay here, you will be very happy!

We visited Denali last year and had a spectacular time. I have rafted a few times before, but my hubbie had not. I felt he needed a big splash into the fun. We rafted in 38 degree water. This was cooooold. However, we were provided excellent dry suits, that kept the important parts mostly warm, and mostly dry. We had excellent guides, which we tipped very well. We had awesome views, including a rainbow across a canyon, that was too pretty to be real. It was a shorter trip, since it was hubbie's first time, but it was just right, with the rain that began at the close of our trip. I highly suggest this experience.
