The prices are ok on most items, but couple this with the coupons in the paper, and the deals get better. Join the Ulta club, and get points for what you buy. You can save up and get salon products, makeup etc. I especially love their clearance sales. They will do 50% clearance sometimes, and it gives you a chance to try all kinds of new things, really cheap. Their salon is nice as well. I have had many awesome haircuts, and a few great pedicures. Great service!

Big Dogs rule! My husband wears polo shirts to work sometimes, and his favorite style is big Dog. Everyone loves big dogs! This location is great- there are always plenty of sizes and styles to choose from. There is even a selection of plus-size apparel, which lets me love Big Dogs too. The service is great. The associates are always friendly and warm, and ready to help you find the Big Dog shirt of your dreams. I lover this place!

DSW is shoe heaven, for most people. Being the giant footed gal I am, however, is not that helpful to me. I have visited this shoe emporium several times, and perused every single aisle, and not once have I purchased a shoe. I mourn all the little cute shoes I saw, and can hardly imagine how such a place can neglect the big footed, but alas they do. If you are of a “normal” sized foot, you will fall in love here. The selection of styles, and the prices are very good.

Ultimate Electronics is a great place to shop for technology. There is a nice selection of audio equipment, and the prices are fairly decent. The sales associates are friendly, and knowledgeable, and can help to select the equipment system of your dreams. They probably work on commission, but they are not as pushy as you might expect. We have shopped here casually several times, and had great service that was not too aggressive. The delivery service is great, and they take pride in their work!

Macy’s has a decent selection of plus size clothes, so I shop here from time to time. The prices are on the high side, so I always shop sales, and use coupons when they are around. Using the Macy’s card can give me deals sometimes, so I keep track of that too. Their clearance area can yield some good deals, so I always check that first. For purses though, I always shop at Macy’s first. The clearance area is always ripe with deals, and I shop constantly for purses. I have a closet full!

Things Remembered is kind of my last ditch chance to find a gift for a difficult person. There are some pretty generic items there that most folks could use. They can monogram just about everything, so as long as you know how to spell the recipient’s name, you can’t go too far wrong. I bought a Schaefer pen once as a gift, when I was beating my head for days about what to buy. It was a really nice iridescent blue, and with the monogramming, the gift was perfect. The service was fast, and I was out the door in no time. I highly suggest this.

Old Navy is a fun and up beat place to shop. I love their ringer tees. I have a closet full of them. My husband likes their shirts and he has a few of those as well. The prices are really good, and sales make them even better. And as I always look for bargains, Old Navy has a decent clearance section as well. Overall, it is a great place to shop.

JCPenney is another location where I will shop from time to time. The store here is quite large. Unfortunately over the years, the plus size department has shrunk. The selection is kind of hit or miss for anything too trendy, but there are basics that always seem to be around. I love their long t-shirts. They wash well and hold their colors. Service here has been slipping over the years, as they have gone to area cashiers. It is pretty hard to find anyone to help on the floor. But the store is usually clean and it is easy to find what you need on your own.

I spent a lot of time in Claire’s when I was younger. I always got my hip and happening accessories from Claire’s. I even got my ears pierced there, although I would not suggest it. ( I had constant problems from the earrings that the associate said were gold—they were plated, and caused me issues. I would have been better off with stainless.) Anyway, the accessories are still fun and inexpensive. I like to check them out when I want to jazz up some boring clothes, and I don’t want to spend a lot of money to do it.

Sears is a store I shop at periodically. I buy tools, men’s clothing, socks and miscellaneous items. I would not suggest Sear’s for plus size apparel, although, as I swing through the Junior’s and Misses clothes, I see things I might wear, if they were in my size. I bought my front loading washer there, and I am in love with it. I had incredible assistance in that department. The sales associate was just spectacular. Generally speaking though, the service is pretty awful most of the time, and there always seems to be a line.
