Weaver Quality Shutters is a great place to get shutters. Our home had shutters on the front of the house, but not anywhere else, when we bought it. We liked the way they kept the sun and heat out, so we decided to the additional windows. Of course the company that made the original shutters was long out of business, but we found Weaver shutters, to finish the house. They were able to match the shutters in color and in texture, and no one can tell they are 2 manufacturers. We have had them for 5 years already, and they look as good as new. Installation was done in no time, and we felt the crew was very professional.

Try the selection of handpoured candles. They have so many scents and shapes and sizes, you will have a hard time choosing. How about some fancy barware? They have that too. The showroom at this location is incredible. They have tall windows, that let the sun shine in, and make you wish you lived there. Service is great and although there are a lot of folks in store, there is always a quick transaction to be had.

Williams-Sonoma has some incredible cooking gadgets. I always check here first for fancy egg beaters, or unusual cookie pans. I like to experiment with baking, and this place is essential when I find my most interesting recipes. Most recently, I purchased a set of nested glass mixing bowls. The price was very reasonable and I use the bowls constantly. The service is phenomenal, and the place is immaculately clean.

Hall of Frames has the largest selection of picture frames I have ever seen. And I have seen many. They are located all over Phoenix, so finding a location is easy. If you want ready to use frames, you won’t be disappointed, as every style imaginable is available here. Last visit I made, I bought a picture frame for my sister-in-law’s college graduation. They have some great novelty type frames, as well as seasonally themed frames. If you want to assemble a frame yourself, no problem. Or they can do it for you. Keep an eye out for coupons in the paper, and you will get some great deals.

I have even found organic sheets here, and those are near impossible to find except online. If you are looking for gadgets for the kitchen, those are here too, in abundance. Prices can be ok, but can also be on the high side too. Watch for coupons, as they can save you a bundle. The clearance area is always full of deals, so you won’t want to miss that.

You may find the place a little pricey, but at worst, you will get some great ideas to apply on a lower budget. If you need some fancy tile, or super fancy plumbing fixtures, this is the place for you. There are some great rugs and a million lighting fixtures to choose from. Check this place out!

I love to wear Eileen Fisher clothing. I was pretty excited to hear that she would be opening an exclusive store in Scottsdale, and I made it a special point to head over that way to check it out. It is located in Kierland, and it is a fabulous looking store. The clothes fit right into this location. The only problem is, that the store did not feel they needed to stock any plus-size apparel at this location. So I browsed at all the lovely racks of clothes, and finally asked where they were. The sales associate seemed embarrassed that anyone would ask such a question, and told me that they didn’t stock them. Blasphemy.

Paradise Valley Mall is a great place to shop. It has all of my favorite stores, and a great food court. If you need a smoothie, or Asian food, or subs, you will find it here. My very, very favorite store, Aveda, is here too. If you prefer the Body Shoppe, or even Origins, that is around too. For clothes, you have Dillard’s and Macy’s as the better choices. The mall is very clean and is constantly patrolled by obvious security, which always makes me fell more comfortable. Whatever your needs, you can probably find it at this mall.

There is only one Blockbuster anywhere near my house. Not that I live anywhere strange- I am deep in the heart of suburbia, with miles of strip malls to show for it. Because this place is the only one around it is always busy. There is a line in the parking lot sometimes, because there are more people than spots. Than you enter the store. There is a lot of screaming, always crowding, and seldom are there movies that you actually want to see. I can handle all of that, but the most maddening thing, is that they do not have a dedicated Sci-fi section. I need to go looking all over the store to find a good flick. At other chains, I can stand in front of a rack of sci-fi, and count off the movies I haven’t seen yet. Bottom line- I now use Netflix.

I simply adore this hotel. We don’t have a swimming pool, so during the summer, when it is 110 degrees, we like to get a room at the Hilton, get pampered and hang out at the nice pool. There is an awesome water slide. It isn’t just for kids, so we have a great time giggling as we slide. The best part about summer, is the summer price scheme. Since no one in their right mind comes to vacation here during the sweltering heat, the natives can get a shot at staying at nice hotels, for a lower price. Rooms that can be $300 in the winter, can go for $100 or less. Since we are also Hilton Honors members, we can collect a pile of points for the stay as well. See you there!
