I was walking on York Avenue and stumbled into this little place. It has a couple of tables and seats no more than eight people. It is definitely a place to get take outs or have food delivered. Surprisingly the food is quite good and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Gourmet Wok for those in the neighborhood.

Like most Chinese restaurants in Chinatown Joe's Shanghai Restaurant is often packed during lunch time. You might have to wait a little while before you are seated or you might be asked to share a table with strangers. Once you get seated order the soup dumplings right away as it takes a while for them to cook it up fresh. So worth it though as they are delicious.

First we had to wait thirty minutes even though we had a reservation. When we finally got our table we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. Never again will we go back.
