Just writing about Pizzeria Uno makes me hungry. It's so much more than your ordinary pizzeria -- they have a great menu full of items like steak and pasta and hamburgers, etc. Lots of good ol' American food. Their Rattlesnake Pasta is by far theee best thing on the menu -- get it without Tabasco sauce if you don't like spicy. The price is also very good for largeee servings of food.

I love this Applebees more than any other. All Applebees are good, but this one is particularly special to me. The waiters and waitresses here are super friendly and always joke around with you, while getting the orders served quickly and efficiently. It's conveniently located near a movie theater and Battery park city. Applebees+movie+romantic walk around the park (along the Hudson river!) = perfect date.

The waiters/waitresses are friendly and treat you like family -- I remember one waitress who warned me to eat my dinner before my dessert. The food is good -- soups, sandwiches, etc. and reasonably priced. They sell adorable molded chocolate that makes a great gift for anyone.

I walk pass this place all the time and I'm always drawn to their little box of 25 cent scraps of cloth. Sometimes you can find a deal in there -- a square foot of some interesting pattern, a ball of yarn, etc. Most of the time, though, it's nothing but small scraps. Their 99 cent/yard bin is also fun to look through. The real merchandise, which is inside the store, includes many different types of fabric and lots of fun patterns and solid prints.

I've gotten my hair cut here twice. It's cheap (less than $15) and fast -- they are pretty much no nonsense and not fussy at all. I'm sure they can be fussy and style your hair and all that if you're looking for it, but if all you need is a trim, it's really easy. The only issue is that the employees don't speak English all that well (mostly Chinese) so bring along a picture!

I visited iBop for a birthday party. The experience started off rather poorly -- the owners arrived late and didn't open the place until half an hour after they were supposed to open. We were given the VIP room, which wasn't very large but had a nice projection screen and many chairs. The music selection is standard -- not spectacular but not bad. Pricing is okay, but you can definitely find a cheaper place.

Right now though, all of their clothing is very generic and "in" and not at all unique or interesting. Try it for basics like sweaters and tank tops, etc.

Pearl has five wonderful stories full of every single art supply you could possibly imagine. Each floor is dedicated to some specific type of item -- paper, paint, etc. It's wonderful. I can spend hours walking through the fantastic and creaky building (I love the atmosphere!) and browse through tons and tons of stuff. And the prices are usually quite cheap and reasonable. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Pearl River has a lot of cute and interesting stuff from China and whatnot, but I find that the prices are wayyy inflated. I know a lot of people love this store, especially tourists, but you're really getting ripped off without knowing it! Look around Chinatown and I guarantee that you can find everything for half the price. If money's not an issue, then feel free to go crazy.
