Avoid this theater if you can. It’s hard to get to with public transit, the people who go here are generally the types who answer their cell phones in the middle of the movie, talk back to the actors, or bring their children to R rated films.
The snacks are less than exceptional and the seating is variable depending on what theater you get stuck in.
And the bathrooms have always been nasty.

It was a great theater when it first opened, and has now degenerated to what you expect from Philly movie theaters: poor service, rowdy audiences, screaming babies, jerks answering their cell phones, stale popcorn, watery soda, etc.
The good points are that it’s easy to get to via SEPTA, the seats are wide and cushy (though they’re pre-assigned during peak times), there’s a lounge inside and a Marathon Grill attached for pre- or post-movie dinner.

My favorite of the three Ritz theaters in Center City.
Has the widest selection of films (5), a great location, excellent soda, easy to get in and out of the theater and the building, close to a bus stop, and the bathrooms almost always have TP. The seats are wider and there’s more leg room than at the Bourse.
And the films, you can’t miss!

If you have anxiety or claustrophobia issues, don’t go here. It’s underground.
Unfortunately, many of the best movies play here, so you may be forced to make a go of it. If you do:
Don’t go on a Friday as it will be very, very crowded
Try going on a day when you don’t have a coat, scarf, etc. It will make seating much easier.
Get there early so you don’t have to climb over everyone to get a seat. Trust me—it’s harder than normal at this theater.

After the lunch hour (and during the non-tourist season) they’re not very busy and you’ll get served very fast.
They are right by Independence Mall though, so during tourist season you might have to fight your way past screaming babies and strollers blocking the aisles to get to your booth.
They deliver too.

Avoid renting with these people if you can. Their leasing agents don’t return calls. Their rent is outrageous. They make up reasons to not give you your security deposit back. Maintenance is slow. Don’t let them trick you with their pretty lobby and office space—the apartments are nothing like it. If you must sign with them, read the lease carefully and get everything spelled out in writing.

The store itself was clean, the staff were friendly, and the piercers seemed to know what they were doing.
I got a double nostril piercing (one in each nostril) and unfortunately they didn’t heal even. No fault of the piercer, and honestly, it was one of the easiest piercing experiences I’ve had.
I also went with a friend to get her nipples pierced. She was very nervous, but the piercer calmed her down, explained everything he was doing, and told her in detail how to care for them when she got home.
I would go back for future piercings.

The first two times I went there I had a great experience. Jackie did a great job on my tattoos.
The third time I went, I got one of their ‘guest artists’. It’s a fine tattoo, but I wasn’t impressed.
The fourth time I went, they were horribly rude, and I haven’t been back since. I don’t have to tolerate being talked down to and ignored by a staff of female tattooists who think they’re entitled to something. I will never go back there for another tattoo, unless, for some reason, my favorite tattoo artist goes there to work.
Luis, the piercer, is fabulous. He’s always done great work for me, works with my anatomy, and explains what he’s doing and how I should care for it.
He’s the only redeeming factor of this parlor.

The location is great, and the atmosphere is less…haughty than other tattoo parlors I’ve been to in Philadelphia.
The prices are reasonable.
And of course, they’re clean.

The salon is much smaller than I expected, and since I can only get there on Saturday mornings, it’s very crowded. I go to Katie, and have been since she was at Luna. I love her, she’s great and always gives me a good cut and style.
The receptionist was a bit rude, though, like I said, it’s crowded and busy, so maybe she was just stressed.
The prices are very high-- $50 and up for a cut.
Honestly, if Katie weren’t there, I’d go somewhere else.
