The food is good, service is good and some nights they have live entertainment. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. Easy access right on M-21 and a short drive from Flint and surrounding areas. It isn't a stand out as some places are, but it is certainly a nice place to relax and enjoy your meal and the music.

The facility is clean and quiet and easy to access. Some urgent cares can be busy and wait time can be long, but this facility was perfect. Easier to go into Durand than into Flint especially if it means faster service..

This is a great old train depot and Amtrak comes through a couple of times a day. However, the depot is no longer open all the time, but only a half hour before the train comes in. That makes it a bit difficult if you want to drop off passengers, we had to wait for the station master to open one cold January morning at 6:45. There is free onsite parking. There is a museum associated with the depot that is worth sometime, but again, with the station open only briefly, it is hard to browse before your train comes in.

Two to three shuttle buses are usually running to get you from the lot back to the airport or the other way around. Rarely is there a line to check in and check baggage, rarely is there a line at security, and often the flight is ready to board early. There isn't much in the way of food (small snack shop, newsstand, and bar type area), but there is not really any need to spend much time here. It simply is a pleasant and easy airport to fly out of or into.

As with many small running stores, this one offers personal service that you don't often find at chain stores. It is a bit small of space and you'll find merchandise is cramped. If you are after a specialty size in shoes (such as a wide for women) they may have to order it. But the sales people are runners and know how to fit a shoe. My husband had some problems with his foot and the sales woman realized that his pronation needed correcting. She recommended both a shoe and insert that solved his problem. Note that my husband isn't a runner, but having shoes properly fit to his feet did the trick. Whether walking or running, it's worth a trip in to make sure you are in the proper shoes.

Another hotel conveniently located on Main Street and right across from a ferry dock. This is a bit more expensive hotel than the Murray and has no free continental breakfast. However, it has a nice large indoor pool and large front porch to sit on and enjoy people watching. A restaurant is connected next door and a conference room is available for meetings. Cheaper rooms have no air though fans are provided. It can be noisy sleeping with windows open though as the horses tend to be out all night clip-clopping through the streets.

Jalapenos has the best authentic Mexican food in downtown. The burritos, tacos, rice bowls, you name it, they've got it and its good. Everything is made to order right in front of you. The sauces are great, the chips are the best. I especially like the Santa Fa salad and rice bowls. Watch out for the portions - it is always more than you need. Avoid lunchtime on the weekdays as all the downtown government workers are trying to get into Jalapenos at the same time!

New York Burrito in Lansing has the best burritos in downtown. Each is made to your specifications with your choice of flavored tortilla, beans or meat and various toppings. The shells are steamed before filling and the hot sauce is really hot!
Burritos come in two sizes - mini or 12 inch shells, which is more than enough for one meal. If you have a chance, check out New York Burrito for a great burrito.

Simple fact is, staying on Mackinaw Island is expensive. I have stayed at the Murray several times over the past 6 years and found it to be quaint and comfortable. They offer a continental breakfast which is quite good. The rooms are small, but cozy with air. Don't take a room on the main street side if you can help it though as the horses will keep you up all night long. The Murray is located right across from one of the ferry lines making it easy to haul your own luggage across the street to your room. The Murray has an outdoor hot tub that is large and worth trying out. Because of the breakfast, the cost of the Murray tends to be less than other hotels on Main Street.

We had dinner at Shepard’s in Clearwater Beach twice this past week and I was totally impressed with the size of their dinner buffet featuring crab and prime rib. The cost for an adult is right in line with other seafood buffets, $22.95 while the price for children is $10.95. The buffet included chilled, peel and eat shrimp, various fish, crab legs, chicken, soups, salad and a dessert table. If you arrive before sunset, get a table with a view of the Gulf of Mexico to watch the sun go down. Valet parking is complementary with the dinner which is nice as parking is scarce in Clearwater Beach.
