Located across the street from the Lugnuts stadium, this sports grill has all the obligatory amenities such as the large TV and bar. But it also has outdoor dining and a wonderful menu. My favorite is the tuna melt, but the salads and wraps are also good. I have only visited during workweek lunch and it is pleasantly busy but not noisy or overcrowded. Not sure what it may be like on game day! Convenient to the stadium but much better than regular baseball fare. Check it out!

My daughter is headed to MSU this fall and rather than spend lots of money at the student book store, I sent her into Steve and Barry's. How can you beat under $7.00 per item? She bought two t-shirts and sweatshirt and can still afford to buy books this fall! The items are good quality. The store is clean and well organized. It would be nice if they had a larger women's section. Seems they have lots of clothes for men and unisex stuff, but a little short on the women's end. It appears that product comes and goes so if there is something you want, don't wait, get in and buy!

I just love Kruse and Muer. A trip here is usually for a special occasion as it is a classier restaurant. The food is outstanding as is the service. I really like that they offer 1/2 portions on many of the entrees for children. That was really great when my son would prefer ordering off the main menu but I knew couldn't eat that much food. Fresh, warm bread is served when you order. Fish, seafood, steaks. The menu is varied.

This is a really nice piece of property in Burton with nice trails and nature center. I know many people don't even know it exists, but you need to check it out. The nature center has lots of animals native to Michigan (mostly dead, but some of the snakes are alive!). There is bird watching area and an activity room where classes are held. The staff reaches out to cub scouts and girl scouts by offering Saturday workshops geared toward earning specific badges and they are really well run. Numerous hiking trails are located beyond the nature center. Watch the paper for info on their birds of prey workshops. My kids loved it.

JD Color Lab develops digital photos at a reasonable price. They are a high tech lab and do a lot of the processing for the local photographers including sports photos, senior pictures, and school pictures. We use them for our candid photos such as digital pictures of vacations. The cool thing is it can all be done online through their software. You can choose the size photo you want and send your order via the Internet. Three days later I show up at the lab to pick up my prints. Obviously other places offer digital processing as well and can be less expensive. But if you are looking for quality work, check out JD Color Lab.

A nice little restaurant with great pizza, stromboli's, salad, and most of all bread sticks with cream cheese/garlic sauce. We can easily make a meal from the salad and bread sticks (okay, not the healthiest meal, but a good one!). They have the restaurant split into two halves when you walk in the door, smoking to the right, non-smoking to the left. I always sit in non-smoking and honestly don't know how large the smoking side is. But the non-smoking probably only seats 40 or so. Therefore, plan on a wait during rush hour on Friday and Saturday nights.

A trip from Flint to Auburn Hills for Joe's Crab Shack is a treat around our house. We love the atmosphere - lots of music, dancing, and wild servers. The decorations are a bit strange, but offer up interesting dinner conversation. The food is excellent. I haven't had a dish there that I don't like. But then we are a shrimp and crab loving family and that's what you get at Joe's. On the down side is the cost. To feed a family of 5, we can easily drop over $100 at this place. That is why it is a treat and not something we do on a regular basis.

I have a leased vehicle from Prestige and I was very happy with the service both from the salesman as well as repair when I had some warranty problems. They have been quick to take care of any problems I have had and always get right back to me when I have to leave messages. The best is I have been brought a loaner vehicle when they needed to have mine for more than a day and they delivered the loaner to me and picked up my vehicle for service!
However, I recommended them to my sister-in-law right after I leased my vehicle and she couldn't get anyone to return her calls. Not sure what that means, but I will be back for my next vehicle.

We've all been to Honey Baked Ham the day before Easter or Christmas when the line is out the door. Commenting on the hams doesn't make much sense as you either really like them or don't. This company is efficient and nicely located in the Yorkshire plaza. But what sets them apart now is the new in-store deli. Sandwiches, salads, and hot sides all ready to go for your lunch or dinner makes it worth a stop in any time, not just a major holiday. Check them out.
