Ugh.

My dad and grandfather rented a house from the sister of the woman currently running Verdugo Mesa. And for years, I would say they got most of the maintenance taken care of without any problems. The owner seemed very nice- she was renting out her house to make some money, as I think she was a single mom. However, she then sold the house to Verdugo Mesa Realty- and the way the property and the family I have still living there are being handled, is wrong.
The next door neighbor has to call the company to complain when the tree in the house's front yard has grown so much that it's hitting her roof and causing damage. The tree should be trimmed every year, as it usually was, but now it isn't done unless a complaint is made. Recently the house suffered water damage due to burst pipes. The water was shut off, and could not be used for 2 weeks, until a plumber was finally allowed to take care of the problem. In the meantime, there was no use of the lights in the dining area, because water was coming down through the fixture. Of course no water meant no regular use of the toilets or bathtub & shower. Also, there was damage to drywall- holes in the walls- and mold everywhere. To add insult to injury, the landlord seemed to suddendly discover at least a full month's rent was "missing", and she would not send out maintenance until this rent was paid. Shady business, to say the least!
