When I worked off Grand Avenue, I would wait at the bus stop outside their shop and gaze in their window like a puppy at the pound! I am a sucker for adorable stuffed animals and beautiful flowers, and they have plenty of both. Their prices are good and they do such a quality job. Whether you want a nice bouquet, floral arrangements for your wedding or party, or just want to brighten someone's day with roses and a giant panda bear, this is the place to go.

I used to work right down the street from this shop. There are cool, friendly people who work at this location and you'll find a lovely, warm interior. The food is quality, but when I picked up breakfast sandwiches in the past, they were so dull. Almost zero flavor. However I did enjoy a few of the lunchtime items, including the spinach and artichoke dip and the chicken pesto sandwich. They also have salads and some delicious bakery items.

I used to take the 56 Milwaukee bus all the time to and from Michigan Avenue. As I would get within a mile of Blommer's, I would stick my head out the window to get a whiff of that wonderful armoma filling the air. You can literally get a sugar high just by driving past the place. It's wonderful. During the week you can visit their little store and pick up bulk chocolate, candy kisses, chocolate cigars (for passing out when the wee ones are born) and all kinds of other chocolate treats for a great price. And it's fresh off the factory line and always yummy.

There are four words that may get me kicked out of the female human race: I really hate shopping. Yes, it's true. There are actually some of us that do. But I go here once in a while to enjoy gazing at the new stores, the pretty mall, and I get a kick out of the glass elevators. Some of the stores are too trendy or snooty for me, but I do enjoy visiting Food Life in the lower level. Overall, for people that love, A) more tourists than you thought humanly possible to occupy a building, and B) Lots of la dee da stores, well, this is your heaven on earth. Enjoy!

My goodness. Does she EVER stop? It's not enough she's a multi gazillionaire, has dozens of mansions, her own jet and every celebrity in Hollywood kissing her behind, but now the golden one has her own mag. And as Robert pointed out...(surprise, surprise) she's on the cover of every single issue. Yeesh. I do agree about that airbrushing - hilarious.
I'm sure she has a lot of good qualities, and I'm sure Oprah herself will brag about them every chance she gets, but this magazine is pretty pointless IMO. She needs to take a few lessons in humility.

Throughout my lifetime, I have had so many jobs that I lost count (ah yes, the life of the non traditional is wild). And this was one of them. I briefly worked at this wonderful company and it was a great experience to see what makes them tick. They are of course the publishers of some of the top magazines in the world, but they also own HBO. HBO is a highly honored cable station and they continually present some of the most cutting edge, innovative and enjoyable programs on television. Time Warner is certainly a media dynamo and they have personally brought me a lot of joy and entertainment throughout my lifetime. Thanks, Time!!

I used to work in this building for many years. And I must confess that I would sometimes "accidentally" exit on their floor, just so I could see what was going on. I love everything about Warner Brothers. Even though I never forgave them for taking "Pinky and the Brain" or "Animaniacs" (the funniest cartoons for grown ups and kids) off the air, I still think they put out some great programming. And who among us hasn't watched a movie, enjoyed a show or bought one of the WB toys?

Oh, yes, we go way back. Me and ice cream are old buds. This place is so cool and they serve up some delicious ice cream. It's fascinating to watch them 'create' something special just for you. I like to get a pint, have them mix a couple flavors together with toppings, and then split that with someone else. It's a great way to share and save some money. The toppings are amazing, everything your little heart desires and more :)

Overall, I am impressed with Metra. You can literally get so far on this train, for a very reasonable price. ($5 weekend passes are fantastic!) The seats are comfortable, equipped with restrooms that are (mostly) clean, and the conductors are helpful and personable. I have been on all their routes at one time or another and enjoyed myself. However, there were certainly times when I wanted to scream. But it's always the rude passengers who are to blame. You know the ones I mean, they are either shouting full volume on cell phones, drunken idiots or those parents who allow their out of control kids to run wild, throw tantrums and disrupt the peace of everyone on the train. I wish conductors would take better control of these situations. Still, Metra is a great alternative for commuters.

This place has a long history here in Chicago. It's small inside, and there is this funky, weird smell that I just cant' place - kind of like an "old" smell (if that makes sense). But the ice cream sundaes are great. I also love their boxed toffee (lots of chocolate and peanuts on top). I recently picked up a small box of mint chocolates which are very good. I just hope the yups don't ever turn this place into another frickin' condo. STOP WITH THE CONDOS, ALREADY, WILL YA!! Anyway, go and pay them a visit. Just hold your nose and open your mouth to enjoy the sweet treats. (Oh, yeah, and THE BEATLES once ate here!! Yeah, yeah, yeah)
