I have literally gone past this place about a hundred times and one day finally decided to stop in to check them out. Okay, so "the haves" will not enjoy shopping here because the items are not designer duds or anything, but if you just want to add a hip looking shirt or pair of pants to your collection, for a great price, you'll enjoy this store. I picked up a few dressy blouses and I really like them. Just take your time and look around for some good deals. Happy spending!

This wonderful little shop survived a tragedy last year when fire broke out on their block, and some of the exotic birds perished in the blaze. But they are back, open for business at a new location (NOTE: PLEASE CHECK THEIR WEBSITE FOR THE NEW PHONE/ADDRESS)
Spread the word about them to keep this place thriving (they've been around since '93). They have the most beautiful parrots, cages, bird food, gift items and more. Their website is awesome www.windycityparrot.com. They take all credit cards and Pay Pal. If you love birds and animals, you will enjoy this family run shop.

This is one of those "impress them for lunch" types of places. It's packed between noon and 2:00, mostly with white collar professionals. The food is good, but over priced. The last time I went, the service was outstanding and the place looks nice, but I was not thrilled with my food. You don't get much for your money and it was kind of a boring menu selection.

I really don't like the original Billy Goat (lower Michigan Ave location) at all. The burgers are just fair at best, counter people are jerks and the prices are too high for such a crappy meal. But this particular location is only slightly better because it has a great view (Navy Pier). I tried the chicken sandwich and it was pretty raw and tasteless (and overpriced). I applaud them for their efforts, and they are obviously beloved by many folks, but their charms are lost on me.

Sometimes I think people get caught up in the history of this restaurant. Especially Cubs fans. But the reality for me and those I know is that the restaurant is good, but far from great. It's over priced on many items. The shrimp cocktail in partiicular is a huge disappointment (what you get/the quality versus what you pay). I have had much better food. But I do enjoy the sports photos that grace the walls, and the staff is very good.

I discovered this wonderful park one day when I was on my way to the nearby Target. I've been in love with it ever since. This particular area is called Axehead Lake. (I know, it sounds like something you would see in a horror flick, but there are no dudes with hockey masks named Jason running around, I promise!) There's a lagoon with ducks and geese, a nice place to fish, have lunch, go for a long walk in the woods. It's so scenic and tranquil here.

You have to love them for having the brains to put their little stand right down the street from Wrigley Field, and right by a popular concert venue (Metro) and surrounded by a ton of bars. If location alone is any indication, this stand is in for a long run. It's cheap and very convenient. Many folks pay a visit to this place for their dogs, fries and other tempting goodies whenever they are in the area.

This is such a cute place to enjoy a nice meal or a quick snack. They have a dining area with plants, a television and music. It's a down to earth environment, clean, with good food. I love the Greek Chicken special, and their soup. But they have a pretty large menu and everything is very tasty and fresh.

We are proud that such a great company is right here in Chicago. They are first rate all the way. And who can forget that infamous television commercial with "Mikey" and his Life cereal. I used to watch that as a kid, and I really did ask my mom to buy it just because I figured if it was good enough for that freckle faced boy, it was good enough for me! I still love their cereal and so many of their other fine products. I also used to have them as a client, and not only were they great people to work with, they give us free goodies once in a while!

There is a classic Seinfeld episode with George's dad and his "obsession" over his TV Guide. I can relate. Whenever my TG is late in arriving in my mailbox, I repeat Mr. Costanzo's rant of "Where's my TV Guide??!!" I look forward to reading it every week. And now, as Robert said, they are more of an entertainment publication and that's just fine with me. I love the articles and great photos (although the celebrity airbrushed photos do crack me up...) but it's such a good magaine. I just wish they would have better listings (i.e. detailed local programming and 24 hour listings for Chicago shows).
