When I needed to get my watchband altered, I went here to ask for a price. All I needed done was a couple of links removed to make the watch a little smaller. I was shocked when they told me the price. For this service, they were charging about the same price that I paid for the entire watch! They have great looking items, but unless you get them on a sales day, you can really pay a lot for some items.

You would be surprised at the nice looking jewelry you can find at this small kiosk shop inside the mall. I picked up a beautiful ring for my lady here and she really loved it. They sell a lot of necklaces, rings, watches and earrings for women and men. The sales clerks come and go all the time (high turnover), but they are usually pretty nice and helpful.

When I first purchased my cell phones, Sprint was the company that I used then and still use today. This Sprint kiosk is located inside the Harlem and Irving Shopping Mall. Even though it's small, you get the same service you would expect from a larger store. They are usually offering some type of "get a free phone" type of deal at this place which is always a big plus.

Highland Park is not far from the lakefront. If you take Sheridan Rd. which runs parallel to the lake and head north you will find this town easily. It is a fairly wealthy community so you know they keep their parks and nature trails(what's left of them) in fantastic shape. A decent amount of outdoor activitys and events take place in warm weather at that parks and in their downtown area.

A very popular place in this area, that's very cool with me because they are a "mom & pop" business.

This center is both educational and social. The social aspect which is the more popular aspect and what actually gets folks thru the doors of this place is their pub. Their pub features live music (Irish) and food. The fish and chips are quite tasty here. They are very friendly and more than willing to chat with newcomers like myself. The center is housed in what was once either a grade school or high school. Unique & inetersting place.

This club has been around as long as I can remember and was voted best Blues club by the Chicago Music Awards. They have had visits from members of the Stones and The Who. Fairly big name Blues perfomers grace the stage here as well as lesser known folks just starting their career. I feel a bit sorry for people that live on the same block as this club beause it can really get wild here and there is only street parking that everyone is fighting for.

This is the setting that is ideal for Punk bands, up and coming indie/alt bands and the alt/country bands they book in here sometimes. Look what CBGB in NY has done for bands! The drink prices are low as is the admission for alot of their diverse shows. There is street parking available only. Most of their shows don't start until aprox. 10 pm. Support local bands!
