This store often has some really great sales. You will often find clothes at 25 - 50% off regular prices. The selection is pretty good and you can usually find what you need here. Sometimes the clerks are hard to locate if you have a question, but you can usually find your way around on your own. Sometimes the store can appear a little messy, but I'm guessing that's just the result of frenzied bargain hunters tossing everything around!

I will probably not be going back simply because the staff makes me feel uncomfortable. Still, if you want a great selection of food, both Chinese and American dishes, you will be impressed with their buffet. The price is very good during lunch time, and higher on the weekends. It is located next to the food court inside Golf Mill Shopping Center.

How can you not find something to like with 21 screens? The seats are comfortable and the sound system is good, but you are going to pay a little bit more here. Take advantage of their validated parking to save some money. If you didn't enjoy your movie selection, you can explore the area which is filled with fun places to eat, a bowling alley next door and you're only a couple of blocks away from Navy Pier. Public transportation stops across the street from the theater.

Even though this weekly paper has a small town feel and has a special edition for each community for sale for $1 each I found out they are owned by the Sun Times. It seems to be independently run however of the Times. My fav. part is their Diversions(Entertainment) section. I don't care for their classifieds, but their local coverage of newsworthy stories is commendable also.

I don't know how this store survives with all the big chains like Office Max/ Copy Max, Kinkos etc.. But this little "mom and pop' type office supplie and stationary store is still around. I don't know if it is because of customer loyality or because they are offering special rates or custom printing that the chains won't do. I know they usually have signs on their window about big sales, which led me to believe that they were going under even years ago. I'm glad to see them still around. The prices are higher on most items however than the chains.

This is a fairly modern facility but more importantly has a caring staff of professionals that cater to the every need of those that either live here permanetly or temporarily. Someone very close to me was here for a short while recovering after surgery. I got to witness first hand what an amazing staff of patient, kind and caring people they are here. It was very painful for me to go here but the friendly staff and the care that I saw them bring to the residents helped ease my concerns & doubts- thank you.

This chamber does a fine job promoting their most famous attractions. They are the Garfield Pk. Conservatory, The Peace Museum and the giant park itself. The park is huge and covers many acres. The city does a great job also maintaing the grounds to this old and historic park. The area has had it's economic and cultural challenges thru out the years so supporting these places makes a difference and helps this community to grow and heal.

This place which is understandably filled with Polish Pride is now the center for the Polish Community in Chicago. It hosts the annual Polish Fest in Sept. I have been to a few of them, they have American and Polish entertainers, foods, games, etc... It's a place were Jeff. Pk. residents can get together and put differences aside and enjoy the festival. The center used to be a movie theater. I'm not sure if they still do but up until recently classic American silent films were shown here once a month also.

I don't think the winnings were huge but I believe they have had alot of smaller "purse" winnings. Either way it seems like a lot of Jeff. Pk. residents will go out of their way to buy their tix at this newley remodled store/bar. The whole outside looks different than it used to a few years ago, it looks so much better overall. The bar part is a regular old fashioned style Chicago tavern that has alot of older folks as regulars.

The new name for this historic theater and building is the LaSalle Bank Theatre. Did you notice how many banks and corporations are naming things after themselves these days. The theatre is celebrating it's 100th birthday this year. Beautiful architecture both inside and out grace this building that was first called the Majestic Theatre in 1906. Starting next month will be a play featuring the very funny and wacky Martin Short entitled Martin Short:Fame Becomes Me.
