If you want an awesome place to stay while in Hollywood I definitely recommend The Roosevelt hotel on Hollywood Blvd, which is across the street from the Kodak theater. It recently was remodeled and the inside is absolutely gorgeous, classy and stunning all at the same time. The staff is very nice and has a very nice restaurant off the lobby. Walking distance from lots of restaurants, clubs, coffee houses and much much more. The rooms are nice and clean. They have rooms to rent out for parties or meetings. Infact the Oscars originally were hosted there. I would stay here again.

Recently I stayed at the Chateau Marmont in LA and it was very nice. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. The room service was quick, although the food was only okay. The rooms are decent, but you are definitely paying for the atmosphere, location and history of the hotel. There is a lot to do since its on Sunset. You can walk to many restaurants, clubs, coffee houses and much much more. I would recommend staying here. My only gripe was the elevator is really old, slow and scary.

I like this branch of Diedrich's Coffee, because the staff is always friendly and quick. Although not a good place to get a lot of studying done because this is a busy place so there is always constant distraction. They always have yummy snacks and treats too, which I can't resist. In the summer its a great place to grab an iced mocha and sit outside watching people pass by in the circle. And for you Hollywood fans they taped an episode of the ghost whisper in this location.

Because of the merger with Macy's they are liquidating all there stores. Yes you may be able to find some good deals, but be warned they are engaging in deceptive pricing practices. I bought 12 place settings of china and they were advertised as 50% off the lowest ticketed price. When I got home I could see a sticker underneath the price I was charged and when I peeled it back there was a clearance price which is what I should have been charged. This price would have saved me another 30% off what I paid. When I called they would not listen to me and when I asked to speak to their supervisor they disconnected me. I'm calling corporate tomorrow and going into the store to see what they say. I'll put an update when this gets settled. So beware when you go to a sale: it may not always be what it seems like.

This place has some good items and some not so good items on their menu. The best thing they serve is their calamari. It is soooooooo good, and they give you a huge platter for only 9.99. It comes with several dipping sauces and huge pieces of soft tender calamari that are not over fried. As you can tell I really love the calamari. There salads are okay, but nothing to write home about. They have a delicious spicy pasta that I love, but can't remember the name. Their mixed drinks are okay and slightly over priced. But if you like beer, go for their sampler which is the best bang for your buck. They also give monthly tours of their micro brewery. It costs 5 dollars I think and you get to taste lots of beer. They have live entertainment and lots of tv's to keep you busy. Overall nice place to chill with friends or first date.

I love this nail place. Infact I drive from Orange to Irvine just to go here, because I love the staff, the environment and prices. They always do such a great job, and take a lot of time getting exactly what you want done. If you get home and chip something or don't like it they are happy to fix it for you. The prices are so good. For a spa manicure and pedicure its only 22 dollars, eyebrow waxing is 7 dollars, and so on. The place is very clean and its obvious they sterilize everything and are very careful. You can get in without an appointment, but its better to have one.

I love shopping here for random things, for several reasons. One occasionally you find something really cool. Two the cute little ladies that volunteer their time who are super sweet and always helpful. Three and probably the most important all their proceeds go to good causes in the community like buying uniforms for kids, providing dental care to students and so on. The adult clothes are usually pretty picked over, but if you have kids check it out because they have cute kid clothes. I also love looking through their old records, their used books which they have a lot of and are really cheap, and their men's ties. They do have weird hours so call or check it out online first.

Even though I'm obsessed with NetFlix, occasionally I have to have a movie RIGHT NOW! So I go to blockbuster, because they are close to my house, have a good selection, and are friendly. They usually have what I want in stock or they issue me a rain check for their guaranteed movies. I also buy lots of movies there, because they have good sales like 3 used DVD's for 25 dollars or 2 for 12. I've only one had problem with the movies I've rented and when I brought it back they were friendly and gave me a new one. They take movie and game trade ins although I've never tried it.

I love finding unique little surprises in thrift stores, but sometimes I don't have the patience to search through racks of tattered clothes to find that hidden treasure. So that is when I go to consignment stores to find some fun stuff. Although a little more expensive than thrift stores, its often worth it, because somebody has gone through the trouble of sifting through that stuff for you. This store has lots of stuff ranging from modern trends, fur coats, vintage lingerie, shoes, and high end accessories. They carry mostly women's but do carry some men stuff. The owner is super friendly and has sales a lot, so that is the best time to find cheap stuff.

Rods Liquor store in Orange is a good place to stop if you are having a party, going to a party, or just in dire need of some alcohol. The place always have pretty convient parking. They carry a lot of different brands of liquor, wine, beer, snacks, juices, and sodas. Their prices are cheap and their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I went there on St. Patricks day last Friday to buy a bottle of wine and left with a nice bottle of Riesling to take as a gift for the hostess of a party. I was in an out in less than five minutes, which is much more convient than stopping at the grocery store.
