Cuisine of India up here has great food. There is a buffet which is delicious. Their items taste better and are good priced. Their saag paneer is better than most places. It is fresher and keeps me coming back. My other favorite is mattar paneer. I would go here and expect some good food. You’ll get it. One of the better Indian food places in around. High quality delicious food, relaxed non-stuffy environment and nice priced.

Grand stand is a fine pizza place. Their thin crust pizza is great. Its really quite good. Especially when you get it loaded with veggies. Their veggie is one of the best pizzas around Chicago for real. They also have a bunch of other items too, typical Italian pizza joint. During lunch hours they have pizza by the slice, which is of different style than if you order a full size pizza, but its still ok for 2$. If you’re around Grand and 25th then pop over and grab a slice. Better try a big pizza-- it will be good.

Baja Fresh is a great place if you like fresher foods. It carries the same types of items like Taco Bell or Chipotle. What do you call that ‘fast food mex’ Its not like real Mexican food, but its good. The food there is pretty light and has good vibration. The salsas they have are great and you can take little cups with you. If you are used to eating stuff like Taco bell, your senses will be astounded when you first taste this because the ingredients are real and not squirted out of some tube. All fast food needs this caliber of fresh a minimum. It really is much better but expect to pay at least 5-6$. I would try it out, odds are you will find it delicious.

Veggie plate, falafel plate, falafel sandwich are amongst my favorites. Spinach pie is good. Their hummos is fresh not out of some container. The falafels are fried crisply and taste better than a lot of falafel elsewhere. Their tabolueh salad , cucumber salads, are all super fresh and delicious. Believe me, when you eat veg your tastes become sensitive and you notice good veggies and fresh from the majority of junk out there. They also have fresh fruit juices and smoothies. Which are delicious. You can get a stamp when you buy one so your 8th becomes free, nice bonus! Any of the fruit ones are great, also a good one is called “dates and nuts”—it has some frozen yogurt in it. They offer froyog and ice cream too. The service is fine, these guys are working hard, to make you a fresh meal. If it takes longer I am all for it, it is important to eat high vibrational foods that are fresh and made with care. I gain a sense of well being after eating it so something is being done right there. I speak with the owner, he is a friendly guy and wants to do good business. The inside is painted bright yellow and green, very vibrant place. They have hi-fi wireless internet if you need it. Basically a great alternative to greasy junk and typical ‘fast’ food anyday. I have taken several friends here and each one has loved the quality of food. Many have come back and recommended it to others.

Kohls in downers is a good kohls. Usually they have crazy clearance going on. I bought several shirts for $3 . And these were good looking sport shirts, some with patterns, embroidery, most were vibrant. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them too. People always ask “hey where’d you get that shirt” and I look at them and I lean in and look at them and I’m like….kohl’s. It usually gets a laugh or something. Hey aint no shame in my game. Like I said you can fitted nicely for like 35$ walk out with 7 shirts and a pair of jeans. I actually did that one day. It was fun. But here’s the caveat. If you can’t dress now you’re gonna be like, this place stinks theyre’s no good stuff. Listen, its not the store---its you! There are plenty of gems here. You must have it on the inside first. Style is being you on purpose. Elevate your self image, your outer dress will improve. Even if you are wearing tattered rags, people will be like, “hey where’d you get those rags” … ya feel me? Then all clothing becomes “fresh tunic”. And you will enter a new beautiful world of style. Thank you.

Rasoi is cheap Indian food that tastes good. What can I say, there’s not a ton of Indian places right around this area in Melrose Park. Rasoi though tastes delicious. Its better than many fancy Indian restaurants often. My mom gets offended that I like it so much because the cooking may or may not be from that same day according to her. I don’t care though, because it’s the spirit that you eat the food in that counts. To me its good. If you are not Indian you may be confused with the service when you go there, or have a bit of trouble communicating with the staff. Use it as an exercise to become tolerant of slightly different ways and relax and have fun. There is a grocery store attached so experiment with different spices, foods, dals, music, things you may never have heard of. Try something new in life.

This Taco Bell on Grand and York is great. They recently remodeled it so it looks pretty snazzy on the inside with nice seating and lights. There is also a long john silvers with it. The one manager there is especially good. I don’t eat meat so I get a 7 layer burrito usually. Sometimes I get a new item like a grilled stuft burrito. When he takes my order and I say ‘hey can I get that with no meat’ He says “sure, would you beans OR RICE to substitute”.. This is huge. The others will only offer beans as substitute because that is “policy”. And if you ask for rice, they get all scared and charge you extra. But extra beans is not the best, and extra rice makes is much tastier. This guy looks out for my needs and is improvising policy to serve his customers. That is how you should run business, and it keeps me going there. Even though there are plenty of healthier options. Ok I admit, its like 1 min from my place so if I’m in a bind it’s the quickest option. Ok beyond that the service is good and the quality is good. And the insides are way better than pretty much any fast food place in that price range.

I am not certain though what is his highest level of truth with respect to how he runs the business. Because what is a lie to one, might be considered, "the way we do things" to another. Just in terms of the car fix industry in general or his business. First let me say it is a good place to get your muffler fixed, especially if thats what you need. I've been to the Midas across the street and have consistently got lower quotes for the same work . They do the job fast and fix what is wrong. This place can 'negotiate' a lot more. Recently I was there and was initially quoted 540$ for a job. I sensed they were trying to take on more services. When I balked, the price came down correctly to 115$. And the problem was fixed. So I mean, I dont know what to say about that. Quite frankly this could just be the way many car places run. Everyone has their moments, just go in there strong and Take responsibility for what is going on with your car and find people you can trust. Like I said though, if you know its your muffler that is messed up, this is a decent place to go.

Tony’s has it all. Lots of fruit and vegetables fresh. Way fresher than say most Jewels for example. Great place to get things for cooking fresh meals of any type, especially, Mexican, Indian, Asian, Italian. They have a huge variety of veggies and other items that Jewel, Dominicks etc just do not have. Nice staff there, very spacious store with huge ceilings. Everything you need at a good price. Yeah overall a great store, I live in North Elmhurst and will often go over there to get stuff because nowhere around me has it for and if they do it costs way more. Great fresh food at good prices. Try it out!

Could be the best public library I have ever been to. They recently rebuilt this whole library, it has great technology and feel to it. They have a great collection and will even order a book or material if you request it. The interlibrary loan is really efficient and you can request books online using the swan catalog. They have nice places to study and internet connections available so if you need a serious place to get some work done this can be it. Compared to say Barnes and Nobles or Borders. Returns are easy, they have a drive up lane. Overall just a great library, not the creepy stuffy libraries of the past. This has a very clean modern feel. You will appreciate the efforts people have made to bring you such resources. They also have lots of good spoken word books which are great for the car. You can learn new things on your commute. Check it out, feed your mind something positive and you will reap the tremendous rewards. Just go and see it, even if you dont like libraries, you will find something you like here I am sure.
