in this very strange new Orleans style courtyard... that you would never notice if you weren't looking for it, as it oddly located next to the winn dixie, are street signs and lights that say bourbon street, and other big easy reminiscent names, and a bunch of offices, and this quaint and lovely little Italian restaurant. there is 'courtyard' dining, (in the strange fake courtyard, but better than facing the parking lot...) the food is great, the service is nice, this might be my favorite Italian restaurant. I like to get the chicken marsala or a calzone, the bread was delicious, ask for some vinegar.... bon appetite!

a fun place to go for a gathering, a bit far, but if youre coming from tallahassee, you'll be back before your friends get a table at outback anyway.
its quite a drive, so make sure you have good directions, at one point you have to turn off an unlit road onto another unlit road, and its pretty easy to miss. the restaurant is several farmhouses that have been pulled together. There are wagon rides, and a little store where there is usually a singer and a guitarist entertaining visitors who sit in a circle on rocking chairs. the little store has gifts and candy a la cracker barrel, but worth a looksie while youre there.
when you sit down you'll find a bowl of boiled peanuts on your table, and don't worry, they won't stop refilling it, so keep eating! Order a steak off their newsletter style menu and read about the history of how all the houses were dragged from all over the place to get to where they are now. don't expect much from the salad or the bread.... dont expect anything from the salad or the bread, and the desserts all reminded me of something frozen or out of a box, remember, you came for the steak and the experience.
have fun!

this is THe fancy restaurant in Tallahassee, so it'll always be packed with parents who want to take their kids somewhere nice when they come to visit them at school, but don't want to go to the Olive Garden. Its relaxed/dressy, and family/fancy... that is to say, you'll see friendly personalized 'happy birthday' and 'congratulations' messages on the sidewalk in colored chalk; but inside, its all silver and crystal, and fancy fois gras, etc.
.Go for the Sunday brunch, its a fixed price menu; everything is delicious, and get mom to order a mimosa and slip you a few sips. :)

I like to call this place the house of sugarpies. because.... all you can order there are beignets, and they are so delicious and all sugar tasties. I used to go to new Orleans twice a year to visit my sister in law, but after Katrina, she doesn't live there anymore, and now we have no reason to go, and nowhere to stay, etc. The outdoor seating area is always surrounded by street performers playing music, its a place to sit in the shade, have an iced coffee, and a big pile of fried sugar yummies; i think you could order orange juice too... but thats about it. Now, this place is always packed, all day long, all night long... so be prepared to jump on a table, or you'll never sit down. When you do sit down. put your purse on your lap and make sure its closed. the place is swarming with pick pockets. Order as soon as you see a waiter come by, or you'll never get your food, and then be prepared to pay with cash and don't need change! don't let me scare you off, you have to go here, its my favorite place ever, just be prepared.

masterminds. they actually get you to PAY to spend time in their advertisement.... and you'll take pictures there, and post them in your own photo albums.... you've actually paid to export their advertising. its amazing. GENIUS!!! now, everyone will tell you, oh its soooo worth it, theres free coke at the end. its not free coke. you paid 12$ to get in! its a 12$ coke tasting. and, theres no real US coke. its all nasty foreign apple coke, and tea flavored, etc. instead, spend only 6$, buy a diet coke from their machine outside, and save 2 hours of your life. but really... lets face it. if you're a tourist in downtown Atlanta, you're not looking to save hours of your life, you're looking to spend them. as there is nothing to do. in which case, its not a horrible diversion, just know what you're getting into. the coca cola world of marketing.

in college, my then boyfriend now husband, and his friends went here all the time... they would get the all you can eat platters.... then sit and stuff themselves for hours. the girlfriends would all sit around nibbling on fries and wondering how much longer it was going to last... I did a lot of complaining about sonny's in college... i might have even said I hated it.... I think that was mostly because every trip lasted hours and hours, and I'd be disgusted by the sight of 4 men shoveling their faces.... but now, now that we live in a town with no sonny's, I can be more open and truthful about it. the food, as i said then, is not very good. there is lots of it, but its just not very good. the sauce is delicious. I'll give you that. the sweet sauce is very tasty. the meat is all dry and gross, the 'bread' is... like sponges soaked in yellow vegetable thats supposed to look like butter... its not that horrible, if you get the roast chicken or something and coat it in sauce its okay. but really. its just not that good. you hear that honey? its NOT that GOOD!!!

Every Friday night is the Graduate Pub night, sponsored by someone who has something to do with graduate students... it varies, and is attended, I would assume by graduate students and otherwise, they have "1$ Rails" and free food and other drink specials. Rail, apparently, are drinks made with nasty cheap liquor, but still cheap! so yay! The free appetizers are solid enough to make a meal out of, especially if you're a poor college student. It is the place, in fact, where I have had the most delicious mozzarella stick ever. so much tasty. you must go. Fridays 5-7

I have always just bought panties at VS, and when offered a bra, explain that I can't wear VS bras, they don't fit me right. once or twice, someone has offered to measure me, then force me to try something on, and then agree that yes, VS bras don't fit me. But, at this VS, a very helpful sales girl was concerned that I have never been able to find one to fit, and was dedicated in helping me try different cup/band sizes until we found one right. (it seems the trick is going up in cup and down in band) This VS is just like every other one, but their service professionals make the difference in making it my favorite.

i didn't realize it was a co-op, but I've shopped there a bunch of times. the bins of grains and rices are great for finding hard to find wheats and bulgars etc; but they also have a really great section of healthy living Stuff. I bought my neti pot there, they have tons of organic shampoos, and a wide selection of burts bees type stuff. Salves and the like. Great place to go while waiting for a table at olive garden.

I used to go here finals week, pay the 3.50 for bottomless soup and soda; and sit there all day.... they usually have a couple choices of soup, and you serve yourself so you don't feel like a heel for eating 86 cups of soup. They have a great counter/bar place in the middle that a big group of studiers could sit at to review for an exam... its a winner. Once I tried to buy a salad from their cold case.... and it had like 8 beetles in it. so.... watch out.
