For a lunchtime place in DC... perhaps I have overly high expectations... but i really expect the service to be quick... and it wasn't here. I had very low expectations going in, it looks like a college town bar, (and smells like one too) but the food actually wasn't that bad; (I had a goat cheese salad) It was a bit expensive for what you get, but thats to be expected in DC, however... I feel like, I only saw our waitress ever 25 minutes.... we needed to flag down other people to ask for drinks, the check, etc. I hate doing that!

We went with friends and had a great time, we played pool and darts, and drank a little, the food wasn't very good, but its to be expected. however... the fun was all over when we went to pay,,,, I don't remember exactly how much it was, but lets just say it was disgusting. the posted price for pool is something reasonable, like... 10$... but because we were there at night, it was 10$ per GAME per person, and someone had been watching.... plus, our group (two couples) were doing the, the men really play pool, and the girls shoot every now and then when theres an easy shot game... so it ended up being like 120$ to play pool for an HOUR. i was pretty much disgusted. and still am come to think of it.

The outside of this pub has always made me want to go in.... it is, of course part of an office building, but they've redone the front to look brick, and there's a wooden door, etc... its always hooked me. so i went for lunch, and the food was of course, what i should have expected from a bar, icky. everything was greasy, and not in a good tasty way. the sandwiches were blah, the pickings were slim, and the service slow. maybe it would be fun at night as a bar.... but i rather doubt it, it was too.... slimy feeling?

chocolate covered popcorn may sound a little strange, but it is the perfect combination of the most delicious chocolate, and salty popcorn, and don't worry, it wont be around long enough for the popcorn to get stale. they also have ice cream, chocolate covered strawberries, etc you can even make your own mold and have them make chocolate for your business, wedding, etc. While the popcorn is my favorite for me to eat, i love to send chocolate pizzas... pizza sized in a pizza box, its like chocolate bark, decorated on top with white chocolate drizzle and toppings like craisins, nuts, all things delicious. they can ship anywhere!

I had the most delicious panini here for lunch... and as usual, when i have a good experience i talk it up tooo much, tell everyone about it and then drag them there .... and somehow, it's just never as good.... my panini was only on the lunch menu, and the dinner menu was eh, okay, 2 of us got pizzas that were mediocre, the other two tried pastas that were maybe even less than mediocre.... for dinner, the place was deserted... and yet the service was really really slow.... at lunch time though, i still maintain that its great!

This is a very nice store, much larger than any that you would see at any ordinary mall. it's located on the second story of the Mazza Gallerie 'mall'. On my last visit I learned that they offer cooking classes, I'm not sure what the set up is, but they are Monday nights, from 7-9 and it's 45$ a person.
I really like this store because they always seem to have a million gadgets i want to buy, and the people always are informative, but not pushy. also, they tend to always have something delicious to taste and eat, which i always enjoy.

the lines are long... but they move quickly, so try to make up your mind before you get too close to the front... They always have specials and things, so check them out before you get in line or you'll be caught off guard trying to read from the dry erase menu when its time to order... if you do get caught... just go with the toasttite or whatever they call it, the Grilled cheese! its delicious bread with gobs of melty cheese all toasty and marvelous. I also like the turkey sandwich; and i hear they have great salads too.

Vidalia is lovely, a great place for a business lunch or dinner; especially if you have an expense account. For the rest of us, or if you want to go out with people you like rather than clients.... try to wait until restaurant week and then make reservations early! This is one of the eateries that will be booked the whole week, and for good reason! The food is great, and it's so close to downtown, people will be dropping in from work all day long.

I didn't see any mice.... and, there was no one else in the theater when I went. Probably because we saw "the Island" and of course, that was super lousy. I liked the theater! we sat in the balcony, because of course, there IS a balcony; the screen is huge, and the chairs comfy enough. It's right across from the metro, I'd feel safe walking around outside the theater late at night, Sala Thai is right across the street, I can't think of anything else I'd like to see here; except... more movies, although of course, with only one theater they can't have much diversity, but really.... March of the Penguins was there for like, 63 months...

Sometimes I'll find a boatload of 'steals n deals' and sometimes nothing. Once, I got 2 Max Mara Suits, a pair of shoes and a purse for less than 100$s. Also, keep in mind they don't have any extra stock of anything, so if you see something you want.. you better buy it then. I have a picture of a pair of shoes on my cell phone that I wanted desperately but couldn't convince myself to buy because I couldn't think of where I could wear them and the next day I had decided to have them... but of course they were gone. I always look to see if maybe they're there, but of course, they aren't. This isn't the cleanest or tidiest of stores... they do have a housewares area and a small men's wear area... check the clearance racks!
