I love this place because if you look around, you will certainly find things that you wouldn't find anywhere else for cheaper. For example, they have a huge selection of calendars (around the beginning of the year as opposed to the end of the year) for just a dollar!! This is opposed to paying ten bucks for the marked price elsewhere or getting it on "sale" at three for ten dollars at your local bookstore. Trust me, for calendars, this store is the only way to go. This is also the same for high quality agendas for school. The rest of the office and desk supplies are iffy. The agendas also do not appear until the beginning of the year, which is okay for some but not for many. They used to have great doggy chew toys. Just look around, you'll surely have fun.

This place is located by the corner of Dwight and Shattuck. When I walked in for a cut, the lady working there gave me a questioning look. Apparently, she does not have many walk-ins. The place is small and there are only two chairs. The sink that she used to wash my hair was right in front of my seat (I have never seen a layout like this before.) The one part that got me a bit grossed out was how she did not clean the station after cutting someone else's hair before starting on mine. I was happy with the cut though. I think she has a particular style and feels uncomfortable cutting away from it. You will know what I mean when you go. Overall, this is a different experience compared to Great Clips down the street.

I especially enjoy going to this place after my morning class at 9am. Around Berkeley, there are only a handful of stores open at this time and I am usually too hungry to want to cook for myself. Quiznos is open and ready to serve. Their breakfast menu may get tiring at times but it is pretty tasty. I like the pancake, eggs and ham sandwich, meaning they put the eggs and ham between two slices of pancakes. The service is friendly in the morning and it would be impossible not to find a seat. The only problem I have with this place is that they do not have ketchup out, I would have to ask for it. Otherwise, its store hours and location is excellent.

I have only been to one prom in my lifetime and that one singular prom I attended was located on the second floor of Omni Hotel. The outside looks fantastic with the colorful sign and the spiral staircases. The valet at this place is very organized and quick with their duties, so parking will not be a problem. As this hotel is in the middle of Downtown LA beware of all the one way streets, it took me a number of wrong turns to finally arrive at the destination. The food offered at the prom was not too memorable, so I would not know how much better it is on a regular basis. Perhaps if you pay a lot more, you will get something memorable. (I will not guarantee this.)

My friend and I went on a low budget tour of SF and we found this place at Golden Gate Park. To our dismay, it costs money to enter, but we paid the price and were thoroughly pleased. The garden is not all that big, so do not imagine anything like the Huntington Garden in Pasadena. It is small and cozy and very peaceful. You can walk around the enter place in ten minutes. I recommend doing a few rounds and walking backwards and taking various paths to get to the same place because the experience every time is VERY different. I especially like this one bridge that is very difficult to cross, but very fun too. The stairs are nice and everything from the rocks to the plants are pleasing to the eye. I have not tried the tea at this place, so I am in no position to talk about that here.

This place is fun for the whole family. There is an area of snow tubing for little toddlers. They can get a lift ticket and that includes free rentals to play and have fun. There is a machine thing that drives little'ns around in a circle. There are a few lifts with pretty simple routes for the beginners in skiing and snowboarding. The people sending you up the lift are not as friendly as those I have seen at other places (Big Bear or Boreal) but I guess it will have to do. This Ski area is relatively small compared to other places around Lake Tahoe.

Although there is a sign posted on the southeast corner of Haste and Bowditch, I never looked at it. My attention would always be drawn towards the huge temple-like structure next to it. Every Sunday, the doors open and very "happy" people would enter it. Sometimes during evenings, the place would light up as well. I learned later (after attending the first Mind, Mysticism... etc decal) that this place serves not only as a temple, but also as a meditation center. Upon entering the place, you would notice the fragrance immediately taking you in. The room is always quiet, and when I went, they asked everybody to take off their shoes. The seats are very comfortable. I do not know how their lectures go, but if you are up for meditating, consider the Vedanta Society

I was very pleased with this place. The facade of the restaurant effectively hides the mystique and wonders of the inside. The place is a bit small, but the ambiance is just perfect. The food is spectacular, if not its taste, then at least its presentation. Now as for entertainment, this place is a lot of fun, even if you are not drunk. The "ladies" dancing on the bar try their best to put on a great performance. They will make you laugh.as you watch them and clap to their dancing and singing. I heard that there is a club downstairs on the weekend too. One thing though, the place is a bit pricey. They suggest that you and company order three course each and share it also that can get a taste of the menu, (which is exquisite asian taste with a culinary twist). I recommend the filet mignon and the banana split... mmm...

Who hasn't been to Fentons? This is one of my more favorite places to go when I want to eat, celebrate, wallow, or just look schmuck. The place is loud and happy (so maybe it won't be great for wallowing) and the desserts should make you happy too. Sometimes if you go during the busy hours, they will hand you a handy-dandy little gadget thing to play with until it is your turn to get a table. Once seated, you may be overwhelmed by the selection of ice cream. But fear not. Go often and try everything. If you are from Berkeley, I recommend walking there and back because the food will definitely fill you up.

Back way when, my dad and I would drive all the way out to Westminister just to buy Lee's sandwiches. As we drove the distance, we always bought a lot. Imagine our joy when we found out that Lee's Sandwiches expanded into the Alhambra community. Though I do not like this place as much (it is much smaller and pretty crowded sometimes), it is still good for a quick stop for coffee. They even have internet access at one corner of their small store front. Parking is good as it is kind of part of a plaza of some sort. Try it! It should be closer now.
