This is another decent sushi place in Berkeley. I do not know who owns the place, but the workers who serve you do not speak Japanese. In fact, they speak Chinese! The ambiance is lovely. I heard a returning customer exclaimed in excitement how beautiful the place looked after remodeling. Service during lunch time, or after lunch-time is quick and snappy. Their combinations are HUGE for a reasonable price (8-9 dollars). The sushi is fresh and delectable.

Lummis Home is right off the Pasadena 110 Freeway. Take the Ave 43 exit and you're there. What is great about this place is its seemingly reclusive appearance. It is hidden behind a chained fence with foliage growing on it and blocking a lot of view. Once inside, you see a very cozy little hut. I believe they offer a tour of the home only so often, so check before you go! Otherwise, you may be left with only the splendor of their garden. It isn't all that great to be honest. It is like a desert, but not. The home is constructed entirely of huge rocks and concrete, creating a very austere facade.

This place is really expensive. Then again, I have never taken studio pictures before, and digital at that. So it was a big surprise that the photos ended up being approximately 5 bucks each for the wallet size. They do not offer a lot of backgrounds to choose from and the poses are absolutely free to decide. You can go on your head and she'll take a picture. Then again at five dollars a picture, that's no wonder. What is funny about her camera is that whenever she clicks on it to take a picture it would scream, "I love you" in the most cutesy fashion imaginable. If you are waiting for acquaintances, the studio has some really nice chairs in the waiting area (obviously they could afford it with such a high price). They show you the pictures on their computer (19 inch LCD) before printing it out for you to keep. As the photos are digital, they always keep backup of the pictures, so if taking home five copies is not enough, you can go back for more. Also, the photos are not instant, so give it a day or two before it is processed. Come to think of it, I think this place is more for wedding photos or expensive family portraits and not for taking a picture to share with a long distance friend type of photo.

I actually tried this place long before Coldstone emerged. Though the store may be a tight squeeze during rush hour, getting the treat on your hand at the end makes it all worth it. The employees are all bright and happy people. (Their help wanted sign insists that they will hire an employee with a bright smile.) They sing and dance as they fix your yogurt up just the way you want it. They offer a wide selection of "choices", more than 21 if you ask me, which makes you want to go back for more. Not once have I ever tried the same thing twice, and I frequent this place often. You can get your yogurt here right before you begin your tour down Colorado, window shopping. =)

This team is definitely out to serve the biking community. I went here several times for advice and assistance. When I brought back an old bike light for them to look at and repair (without a receipt), they gladly exchanged it completely for me. When I brought my bike in for a repair, they fixed it quickly and waited for my return. Though I never did get fitted for my bike, this place does offer this service. It is not very expensive and they do not try to sell you rubbish in the process. Well, maybe they do, but how would I know. Check out their website as they offer a wealth of information there, more than I can tell.

I would not call this a meal because it will not fill me up, unless I buy three or four top dogs. And I certainly would NOT buy that many. It is expensive and a delicacy I cannot afford on a daily basis. I still prefer the dollar-fifty hot dog and drink combo at the nearest Costco. Maybe the workers see how I cringe as I pay for the top dog because they are kind of rude (in that they do not answer my questions and just go on about ignoring me). Now I just get in and out of there as quickly as possible. Why do I still go there when the workers act too cool for me? Because their top dogs are just so great.

This theater is pretty big. It is sort of hidden between bridges and overpass and streets and corners in Emeryville. I would take a very different route I go here with different people because it just happens that way. I can not say much about a theater because that's all it is. You go in, pay 8 bucks with a student ID, and you watch a movie. Maybe I can talk about the seating as the cushion are nice and comfortable and you do not have to deal with people standing up and blocking your view with the stadium seating. The snacks are definitely overpriced, but that is like every other theater. All I can say is this is another theater to choose from as it is not too shabby.

I go here with my friends for delicious ramen. Actually, I am not exactly a fan of ramen, so I cannot tell exactly how good is this place. This place is buried in the rows of stores on the Elmwood District part of College Avenue. If you go to a lot of the stores here, you will notice how the storefront is very narrow, but upon entering you will notice how long the store actually is. That said, you would first enter the restaurant and you order whatever you want at the register. They hand you a block of wood if you are dining-in and send you to the back where you grab a table or counter (if any of these are even available). They also sell sushi among other foodstuff though I only go here for the ramen.

My boyfriend took me here one morning after we were rejected by Pho Hoa a few blocks down (it would not have been open for another hour). He too had never been there. To both our delight, they served Vietnamese Sandwiches!! And according to him, it was pretty good. I got the "fresh rolls" which were equivalent to the spring rolls (definitely cheaper than at Pho Hoa). The one complaint I have about this dish is the sauce. At Pho Hoa, they put in little bits of chunky nuts for extra texture and offer a spicy variety for the sauce. One other dish I was glad to find here was the Moon Crepe, or the Vietnamese crepe, really good if made with the right amount of mung beans and meat bits. They did not have Banh Coun, which is another delightful dish. Anyway, this place offers a wider variety of Vietnamese dishes and so I give it a thumbs up! I can not say I know how great is their pho.

I frequented this place for over fifteen years and this place has changed quite a bit. It used to be very popular with lots of people and some lines. I am not sure if they still have the lotto room on the side. After many exchanges in ownership, a water place blossomed in the store. I would not say that the store is very cheap. It is more like a larger version of a liquor store. I do not know what happened to the little moving toys (a car that goes back and forth, or a mini merry-go round) that they used to have by the entrance. I remember that they used to change it up every so often so that there would be different rides. Obviously, as Lincoln Heights changed, so did Bi-Rite.
