Newcomers to town might try to link this cinema with the Last Picture Show but really -- it is closer to the first frame. The popcorn is fresh, the memories mingled with the first flicker of kinescopic imagery.
Capitol Cinema blends the modern diversity of the cineplex with the classic feel of tiled lobbies, frayed rugs, sloping aisles, and plush, then red velvet seats. Don't forget the curtain that graces the semi-screens. The marquee overhanging the street hangs heavy with first-run marquee films on view at half the price of the big mall screens.
The art-house atmosphere and the red carpeted crowd blend into a first-rate venue of first-run films. Keep the chatter down and enjoy the mix!

When it comes to the green, green grass of home, most Cantabridgians need no map to find the unquiet watering hole known simply as the Plough and the Stars. Coined for a Sean O'Casey 1915 play about the citizen-led libetraytion of Ireland, the pub had its roots back in 1966 with a pair of Irish brothers who have gone on influential lives in the movies and international politics.
The recently re-opened "dis-esablishment" features the same narrow galley lay-out, the familiarl dark, sparse wooden walls many folks remember from the bar that was sysnoymous with Cambridge rad-lib, salon philsophy dating back to the late '60s. The tall glasses maple dark beer are here agian, but the resurrected menu features some nicely innovative entires incluidng Rabbit Stew, Baked Cavatapi and Seared Cod Loin. Local anthroplogists agree -- The natives convene here while the tourists are purely accidental.

The neighborhood family feeling runs deep here, deep as the deep-dish Sicilian that is the signature of its authentic cuisine. Plenty of local color, including photos along Cambridge notables -- past and present.
The patriarch- Armando always beams at the sight of the children. Everyone is welcome to free chips and cookies, for here is the Big Heart of Little Italy atop one of west Cambridge's busiest corners.
Have it any way, every day -- deep-dish Sicilian, crowned with luscious toppings, wide-wedged cheese slices, a full-range of sub-marine sandwiches and plates as well as a fabulous array of rich and filling calzones.
If you happen to eat onsite, perk up your ears, as Armando's is a regular haunt of the staff, researchers and scientists of the Harvard Smithsonian Astrophysics lab. Gape at the wall-maps of the Not your ordinary pizza parlor crowd.
