Located at Christian Science World Headquarters in Boston, the Maperium is a translucent glimpse into the stained glass world of traveling the round. It's the lighter side of travel -- literally.
It is a wondrous look at the world from a unique perspective: a three-story spherical globe room that would allow visitors to
view a map of the world from inside the center, lined with a world map cover with stained glass. These unique reactions were based on map temples fro And McNally and specially power-stained glass overlays of these maps. painted them with a colored powdered glass mixture. Each panel was then fired in a kiln to fuse the color to the panel. Different colors required separate firings at temperatures ranging from 1,100 to 1,350 degrees Fahrenheit.
To help maintain their exact curve and shape, panels were fired in asbestos cradles. It took eight
months to paint and bake all 608 glass panels.Once the panels were completed, they were fitted into the spherical bronze frame that holds the entire structure together. Finally, 300 light bulbs were installed to illuminate the globe from the outside. The globe has a ventrilqual quality of baking visitors sound like they are
right next to one another.

to wake up the kibby with downstairs rock and roll and they've never looked back. It seems they have two clientรจle -- punks and rockers take in there basement music while here but they are really one -- poets, punks, rockers. There is alot of history here. The food is decent but the since is the thing. It's a little taste of Bavaria in the heart of Bohemia.
