I had dinner tonight at Northlake Tavern. Add this place to the list of restaurants I will only go do now that we have our smoking ban. With no windows and very little ventilation, a ton of smoke could hav been horrible. Instead we were able to breath freely.
We ordered a medium pizza, which more than fed the three of us. The pizza was great. Tons of toppings and cheese, and the crust was awesome. I also got a green salad which was very ordinary, but good.
The pizza took a good 45 minutes to get to us, so we were really hungry by the time were were able to dive in. No matter though, the food was great. The service was also attentive and not annoying.
I'd go back in a heartbeat!

This is a very fun place to spend a sunny afternoon in Seattle. Pick up lunch at any of the nearby restaurants and park yourself on the grass to watch the boats go by. Kids love it here!

Just yesterday I drove past the Central library and thought that it's been far too long since I've visited. This place is simply incredible. Not only is the book/periodical selection second-to-none, eye candy abounds.
It's a great place to go on a rainy day. I love listening to the rain hitting the thousands of windows.

When I have kids, I'm not taking them to MacDonalds. I know that if I do, they'll crave it when they're 24, like I do. I full realize how terrible it is for you, and how low-quality everything is....

It's always puzzling to me that this place is consistently empty. My Mom lives in Kirkland, so when we're in the mood for Thai, this is where we go. Since it's almost always empty, service is fast. The food is excellent. We always get the same thing, and it's always great. Prices are very reasonable, too.
I read somewhere (Citysearch maybe?) that this is the #1 Thai place on the Eastside. I believe it!

My husband's family is from Mexico, so he of course hates it. I guess that explains why I don't make it in there very much...
So if you're in the mood for decent (non-authentic) Mexican, this is a decent bet.

Don't come looking for great service and you won't be disappointed.

IKEA is an experience. You have to drive way the hell out to Tukwila, generally battling traffic at least one way, and then you get to battle the crowds in the store. But it is oh, so worth it. IKEA has it all. Tables, chairs, beds, hooks, utensils, dishware, etc. And it's all very reasonable. Their lighting section is great, and they have a gorgeous room of rugs. I love the room mock-ups so you can dream (and drool) about what you could do to your place if only you had the space/time/energy/money.
Here are my suggestions: Go on a weekday/weeknight, eat first (their cafe is scary to me) and make sure to take your Paxil first. On weekdays the crowds are much more manageable, and maybe after they finish their renovation (complete with wider aisles) crowds will be less of an issue. Shopping on a full stomach will prevent you from thinking that IKEA hot dogs are a good idea (they never are), and if you take your Paxil beforehand, the long lines won't give you an axiety attack.
