This is no Ritz Carlton, but it didn't matter. The bed was super big and comfortable, and we had a lovely deck overlooking the Yakima river. It was the perfect place to stay in Yakima, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Clean and comfortable, what more could you ask for?

I cannot rave enough about Sunset Coach Tours in Prosser, WA. My husband and I took their wine country tour for our first anniversary. The coach will pick you up at any of the Prosser area hotels. You enter the coach and see up to 10 other people who you will be touring with. The coach is spacious and comfortable, stocked with ice water bottles and wine glasses.
The coach, driven by Paul (co-owner) takes you to 6-8 different Prosser area wineries. Paul is super knowledgeable and extra friendly. At one of the wineries during the middle of the day Paul will unpack a light lunch (Fresh meats, sliced french bread, fruit, etc.) and you will get to sip wine in a vineyard and eat a lovely fresh meal.
The tour runs from 11-5 and will drop you off at the hotel it picked you up at. For $75/head this is a great way to see the gorgeous wineries in Prosser. I highly recommend it.

Lots of gals from my work order lunch from here, since they deliver. I've thrown an order in once or twice and have always been disappointed. The bread is always rock hard, which makes the sandwich super hard to eat. I know this will sound sacrilegious, but I'd rather have Subway. Or even better, a pita from Pita Pit!

Okay, so it isn't my top choice for lunch spots, but I'll definitely swing by if I'm in a rush. Their food is reliable. The bread is freshly made, though not top quality by any means. The veggies are fresh (enough) and the meat is fine. It's nothing to write home about, but it'll fill the belly if you're in a rush!

When you go, have a slice of the Death By Chocolate for me. :)

I live close to Broadway and walk up there frequently. I love passing by Blooms on Broadway because they always have the most gorgeous, fresh flowers. Their mix is also quite eclectic, which I find exciting. The problem I've found, however, is that the selection is quite limited. Don't go with your heart set on Ranunculus, it's likely they'll only have Gerbers. They don't have many pre-mixed bouquets, so prepare to make your own or choose a one-flower variety.

Oh if only we had one here in Seattle. We are in such dyer need! So until then I shop the website or visit the Portland store, which works just as well.
The majority of items available through West Elm are uber-modern, therefore I don't decorate my entire abode with their stuff. I do pick up a few choice pieces here and there and work them into my contemporary style.
Prices are mid-range, similar to Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel, but the styles are unique and the quality is fantastic.

I am a huge sucker for letterpress stationery, and Flourish has an outstanding selection. The store is small and has a quaint feel, though you can find just about any paper product you could need. They also sell high-end wedding invitations from companies such as Egg Press, Oblation, Page Stationery, etc. These invitations are hard to find, so Flourish is a great resource.
Take your credit card with you when you go, prices aren't cheap, but neither is letterpress. And it is so worth every penny. The look of letterpress is pure class and elegance.

In my house, Bank of America is referred to as "Spank of America". No matter how great you are with your money, you are constantly being spanked!! We've banked with BofA (or SofA...) for a few years now, and still haven't switched. That's purely out of laziness, I'm ashamed to admit. I also feel that our other banking options aren't that appealing. Wells Fargo? Where even is there a Wells Fargo around here? WAMU? Basically BofA in a different wrapper.
I hate how you get charged for everything with BofA. Want to call and talk to a phone banker? .50. They seem to attach that handy little .50 to every teensy transaction you could dream of. I'm sick of it and I want out!

My husband and I had dinner at the Dahlia Lounge on Judy's Book (I won a promotion!). It was one of the best meals I've had in Seattle. It was such a great decision!
For our appetizer we had the shrimp potstickers, which were incredible. If only there would have been twice as many, we wouldn't have had to fight over the last one.
For the main course I ordered the Halibut (best I've ever had, ever) and my husband had the big old steak. We were both super impressed. The only thing was that the portions were very small, but I sort of expected that.
Then comes the best part: dessert. We had the devil's food cake with homemade ice cream. We decided to share it, and my oh my was that a mistake. We were viciously clawing at the plate after the first bite. It was INCREDIBLE. The waitress actually laughed when she came back and the plate was absolutely clean. We couldn't get enough.
All in all, this was a wonderful dining experience. I hope to go back soon!
