I spend a lot of time down at Glazer's Camera, so the other afternoon on my way home I stopped in Blue Moon Burgers for lunch. The place was hopping. It seems to be quite the popular lunch spot for those working in the nearby neighborhood.
I got a bacon burger, fries and a drink (oh my heart!) and was very pleased. Although the service was less than cheerful (they were busy, I'll giv them that), the food was delicious. The prices were what you'd expect to pay elsewhere, but the q quality was higher.
I'll be back!

On our way downtown last weekend, my husband and I stopped by Red Line Pizza for a quick bite to eat. We were delighted at the reasonably priced menu, and everything sounded delicious. The place was charming; many single folk sitting at tables alone, surfing MySpace on the free wi-fi. The waitresses were kind and expedient, not cloying or pushy. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have regular fountain drinks, but they opt to have only higher quality sodas. I guess we can applaud them for that, but sometimes I just want a Coke with my pizza, not necessarily a grape soda, ya feel me?
Our pizza (we got a Medium) was the perfect size for the two of us, and it wasn't difficult to finish the entire thing . The ingredients seemed very fresh, and we would definitely hit this place up again. For a beer, soda and a medium pizza we only paid $15. Can't beat that!

The Can Can is horribly hard to find, but once you get there it's really worth it. You're greeted by a gal at a ticket desk who will also serve as your hostess. Everyone is dressed in full-fledge Can Can apparel, which means lots of cleavage and knee-caps. The stage is in the center, with little bistro style tables all around. There are some larger tables which are good for groups (bachelorette parties are especially popular here). Everyone says the shows are very fun, but we didn't stay that late.
The drinks at the bar were awesome. I had the East of Eden which was to die for. It was raspberry puree with muddled cucumber, of all things. With a shot of vodka it was extremely refreshing and just what the doctor ordered after walking all the way from Capitol Hill.
For an appetizer my husband and I shared the risotto/mozzarella ball appetizer (don't remember the actual name), which was decent. I think if we came back it'd be for the dinners and the drinks.

I went to Baja Fresh today for the first time. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasently surprised. I got the Mexicano Burrito, and it was excellent. The tortilla was fresh, the meat was perfectly grilled, and the rice and beans were done just right. The price wasn't high at all, I was very happy with this lunch choice!

A few girlfriends and I stayed at the Sheraton Tacoma last weekend. To celebrate our friends' last night as an unmarried woman, we traveled up to the 26th floor to Lounge Vertigo for a drink. I loved the ambiance in this intimate, swanky bar. Seating varied from romantic two person tables, to semi-circle couches, to chairs on the patio. The lights were dim, the drinks were strong, and the feeling in there was wonderful.
The only catch was the service, which wasn't anything to write home about. Our waitress wasn't overly friendly or chatty, but she delivered our drinks, which is what we really needed. :)

A few girlfriends and I had lunch at Zinnia last week. I was so impressed with this restaurant. They had a lovely and extensive wine list, and the decor was airy and fresh. With tons of windows, the restaurant is very light and beautiful.
I had a Cesar salad which was delicious, and the Viogner we drank was a perfect accompaniment.

I was the bridesmaid in a wedding this past weekend. The night before the wedding, the bridesmaids and I stayed at the Sheraton hotel in Tacoma. I was so impressed with this hotel. We had a room on the 21st floor, so we had a lovely view directly facing the mountains. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the whole room was very well appointed. Service was a bit slow, as the hotel was extremely busy, but we always got what we needed.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

As a wedding photographer I have had the opportunity to work with many wedding coordinators. This past weekend I was in a wedding, and the wedding coordinator, Jody of Bridezilla Events, took the cake.
She was on point from start to finish, with helpful hints and a huge bag of things anyone in the bridal party might need (bobby pins, panyhose, even a razor!).
If at any point throughout the evening we had an issue, we could count on Jody to correct the problem quickly. She was incredible and made our experience so much more enjoyable!

My husband and I decided to go camping last weekend, and did quite a bit of research into preparing for our trip. We don't have the means to backpack into a campsite but still seek a rustic, quiet experience.
We eagerly decided on the South Fork Hoh campsite, in the Hoh Rain forest (in the Olympic National Park). Everything we read online said this was a very rustic campsite right on the Hoh river. I called ahead to the Hoh ranger station, and he said the campsite gets very little use and is one of the best kept secrets in the area. We were thrilled!
Our excitement vanished when we arrived at the campsite to find it full. There are only three campsites, so it fills easily, but everything we'd been told had lead us to believe there was no risk of not getting a spot. Luckily, one of the fellow campers flagged down our car as we were leaving, and invited us to take his campsite, and he'd move his tent over to his friend's site.
The site he gave us was #3, far and away the best of the three sites. It's the only site right on the river, and the view was gorgeous.
Unfortunately, we will not be visiting this campsite again in the future. Our nights were ruined by blaring music from the campsite next door. The sites are so close together you can hear each other sneeze, and this isn't quite the most privacy rich environment.

My husband and I stopped by the B&O for lunch last Sunday. I was super excited for the blackened salmon salad (which was nearly the only thing on the menu that appealed to me). I ordered my entrée only to be told that they only serve that after 4pm. What?? They were only serving "brunch" apparently. This left me feeling pissed off that I couldn't order what I wanted, and had to order breakfast instead. I would have left had my husband not been so excited to try the Jerk Chicken Sandwich on some awesome looking foccacia.
I wanted to love this place, but it bummed me out.
