Tried and True Italian cuisine for the Cost-conscious Back Bay visitor

La Familia Giorgio has always been one of my favorite little eateries in Boston dating back to the 80s. The place is simple. Its selling point is not flair but real Italian homecooking with all the typical and more traditional items one would expect. Decent past, good parmesan, and since its family style dining the portions are huge with definitely enough to take home even if you share.
They offer excellent lunch menu with specials with platters of pasta for
$5 - 6 making it affordable for those on a budget whether an occasional visitor to Back Bay or a local patron or drone on Newberry St. There is also outdoor seating in the summer without the pretension or attitude of Cafe Armani or Croma further down the block.
