The East Ave. location is my regular grocery store. It is one of the smallest ones in town, but I still find that they carry almost everything that I need on a regular basis. My two main criticisms are the lack of a "bulk" section, and the limited parking availability. However, if you avoid going at peak times, the parking is not a problem. I also would like to see them put in the same produce weighing/labelling system that the larger locations have to save time at the check-out. Overall, it is a good place to shop.

Bob Wagner real estate did a great job helping us find a nice apartment in the price range we were looking for. They work as an intermediary with private owners of the apartment buildings and potential tenants. It think they also may own some properties. There were actually three placed that they showed us that we liked. The agent even drove us around to see various places. The office is located in a neat old house on University Ave, and they show a number of properties in the Neighborhood of the Arts. Be aware that they do a credit check. Their website is a useful starting point, although it may not be 100% up to date. Good Luck!

This is a wonderful Mom and Pop store (literally!) that sells African Violet houseplants and supplies. They carry everything you could need for happy and gorgeous plants, even lighted plant stands to grow indoors. They also carry a few other types of plants from time to time, such as geseneriads and orchids. The friendly staff will be glad to give you some growing tips. They also offer a mail order catalog.
The owner also sells canaries, which he breeds himself! His collection includes some exotic red-factors too. The males are strong singers, and the females make nice chirpy companions. Pet supplies such as cages, seed and treats are also available. This place is really unique and worth checking out. Note that they are closed Tuesdays and Sundays. There is street parking on Broadway, and a small lot in back.

I love the tellers at the Monroe branch of Citibank. They always have lollipops for customers, and they seem to be cheerful and happy. (I only go on Saturdays, so I suppose it might be different...
I love the tellers at the Monroe branch of Citibank. They always have lollipops for customers, and they seem to be cheerful and happy. (I only go on Saturdays, so I suppose it might be different on other days.) They are much more chatty and warm than the tellers at the other branches I've been to. Once they were even able to waive some fees for me when I had a lower than normal balance in my account. The branch has several indoor ATMs, a walk-up teller counter, a side office for insurance/investments/ new accounts and other special transactions, and a drive-up window. I also love the fact that the branch is in a house. It makes the atmosphere much more welcoming than your typical bank. There is parking in both front and back.

This national chain is a nice high-end jewelry store. We purchased our wedding rings here because of their level of service and the quality of their products. If you're going to be investing in something like a wedding ring, you want to know that you are going with a reliable company. We get free cleanings and "check-ups" of our rings several times per year.
There was a small problem with a delay in delivery with one of the rings, but ultimately they were able to pull stock from another store and make it right. The customer service has always been good in my experience.

Cooks World is one of my favorite stores in Rochester. They have pretty much everything you could want or need for your kitchen. They also have a friendly and knowledgeable staff to advise you and help you find what you need. They have been voted #1 in local newspaper polls several times. I like to just go in to look around, enjoy a cup of delicious coffee, and be inspired! Parking is convenient and plentiful around the side and back of the store. They carry a nice stock of quality cookware and knife sets including all of the top brands. 1.) They have a huge inventory, and they stock high end lines for almost every product.
2.) They send 20% off coupons to anyone on their mailing list constantly. Tell your friends and family to sign up so they can save.
3.) You can view and update your registry online easily.
4.) Returns and exchanges are painless. They will even give you cash for returned registry items.
5.) The registry stays active long after the wedding, so people can give you unfulfilled items for birthdays, holidays etc.
We were very happy that we registered with them, especially since we got married far from home. We were even able to return bulky items and re-buy them when we got home. The All-Clad pans and Wusthof knives they carry are unbeatable. They aren't cheap, but they are a lasting investment. Have fun shopping!!

I love going to this place on a weekend afternoon. They have some of the most unique and interesting art objects and decorative/useful items for the home. You can find a really special, unique gift here too. (Like for a wedding, etc.) They have a nice area in back with coffees, jams, pretzels and other food items and they usually have samples for shoppers to try. The flavored coffees are wonderful. They also carry a Texas champagne hot sauce which I love. The jewelry and woodwork items are beautiful. The atmophere is relaxed, bohemian and friendly. The employees are friendly and helpful, but they don't "hover" over you. I wish I could afford to shop here more often! Also, don't miss their holiday lights!

We ate here recently for a birthday dinner with some friends. It was a good choice because there was a young child in our group, and this place is pretty "family friendly." We were glad we had a reservation, because there were many people waiting and it was crowded on a Sunday night. The bread is excellent!
I was surprised that they did not have Penne ala Vodka on the menu, as that is one of my favorite classic Italian dishes. Instead, I went with the pesto. It was good, but more oily than I am used to. One of our fellow diners commented on an excess of sun-dried tomatoes in her dish, but generally everyone seems satisfied with their food. The portions are, of course, quite generous and I was even able to split my entrée. (I don't think they charged us extra for that.) The house merlot got mediocre reviews at our table, and we didn't sample any desserts. The service was attentive and good.

I bought my wedding dress here for a summer 2005 wedding. They had the perfect dress for me, and were very helpful. I thought the prices were much more reasonable than some of the other places in town. I was also very satisfied with the alterations that were done to my dress (just hemming.) Everything was ready when promised.
