Union Bay Cafe

Wednesday, March 08, 2006
I went to Union Bay Cafe on 45th on my birthday on Saturday. There are many pros to this restaurant: The drinks were delicious and strong, the food was tasty, the vegetables locally grown and organic and the wine collection was amiable. Though the place is fairly small, the design is well done. It was refreshing being in a restaurant designed for adults. The only minor problem was when I called for reservation (on Saturday and they still accomodated me!!!) I was told that we could come early and wait at the bar. However, there technically isn't a bar. There was a few tables in a small alcove that they call the "wine bar." We weren't attended for about 15 minutes and the serving was pretty slow all night. However, overall, it was very enjoyable and I'd love to go back...on a date perchance?
