Uber cool downtown hotel

Palomar is great little boutique hotel at 4th and Mission, next to BART and just a block and a half from Yerba Buena and the Moscone Center. Rooms have cool touches like leopard print carpeting and the upstairs lounge provides a low-key but comfy place to chill out with a drink.
The staff is friendly, smart, accomodating and very knowlegable about the surrounding area. The only downside is the price: rooms start at around $200 a night unless you find an internet deal.
