L'appetito's espresso drinks are nearly the best in the city; they blow Starbucks out of the water (i'm talking about real espresso, not sugar-laden "creations"). Plus, the selection of fresh Italian cookies will be enough to satisfy your sweet tooth ($8-9/pound).
A selection of cold drinks, sandwiches and other prepared foods, as well as deli meats and cheeses are also sold here. A great alternative to Food Life or other food courts if you are shopping on Michigan Ave.
On top of that, L'appetito sells imported coffee, pasta, candy and other items.
Never very busy, but service always seems a little "disgruntled."

There are so many different beers on the menu, 26 total on tap. They even offer a beer school periodically.
It can get very crowded and be annoyingly loud (music and drunk people) on the weekends, however, which is disappointing because this is the type of place you want to drink AND carry on a conversation without going hoarse.

The beer selection is stupendous, especially in relation to Belgium beers. Apparently they've added Rodenbach to the list, although I haven't been in to order it yet. It is a must try.
The mussels are divine as are the fries served with aioli mayonnaise. I've never had a bad or even mediocre meal here; although I haven't exhausted the menu, I'm convinced everything is delicious.
Week nights are better if you go. I went last Saturday at 5:30 PM and the wait for a table was over an hour. I'm told it clears up after 8PM or so, but need to verify.

Penny's offers fantastic cheap Thai. It is a little bit "Americanized," but still good.

Delivery is also very quick, unless they're super-busy, but even then I've never had to wait more than 40 minutes.
I also like to eat-in at the Diversey location, mostly because of the daring artwork, but also because there usually isn't a wait and it's an inexpensive place to have a relatively nice dinner date.

The service I've experienced has been slow and not very cordial. Understandable when you see how many tourists come through the doors.
Unless your treating out-of-towners to the Chicago scene, you should only have to try it once to realize there is better almost anywhere else. Unfortunately, I have not been so lucky.
Noteworthy: the bathrooms were very clean.

The staff here are also refreshingly friendly, in a next-door-neighbor-where-there-are-no-property-rights-issues kind of way.
Additionally, the selection of wine--inexpensive and still tasty--is phenomenal. My wine pick: Rene Barbier (?) Mediterranean Red. I believe it is less than $5 and is so juicy it pairs well with almost anything.

Cedar Realty is extremely responsive and helpful. The building I'm currently in is managed by them; Cedar Realty and the building owner work together to ensure the building is clean, safe, and in good repair at all times.
Each month, they also send a rent "invoice," a great reminder for me to send a check (I need it!). Along with the invoice, they sometimes send information on real estate for sale through Cedar Realty.
The leases also expire only twice a year, in April and September. So if you start renting in Feburary, your lease does not end until April of the next year.

My friends and I had a great aparment at Clark and Belden: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, back porch, a parking space and dishwasher (unfortunately, no w/d in building). Hunter Properties was responsive to our request for decreased rent, about $100/month.
They were also very responsive whenever we had problems (which was rare). They always called ahead and it never took them more than 2 days to resolve issues.
Hunter Properties was also flexible on several occasions when we were unable to pay the rent on time; we just called and asked if a late payment would be okay.
I would definitely rent through this company again.

I don't like how open the stations are, but it is small space. At least the more technical work (i.e. fillings) are done in a more secluded area.
The last time I went, I had silver fillings replaced (as they had the potential for discoloring my teeth) and Dr. Blank allowed me to wear headphones to cover up the sound of the drill.

The coffee is also below average and the espresso drinks are nothing special.
I do like the rice krispie treats, however, and there is a decent selection of sodas and junk food in the convenience store section.
