Something happened when this bar widened its front room and added, like, a thousand more tvs. Now McGee's is just a place to drink and get drunk, especially on weekends or during the big game. The food is decent and the beer selection is pretty good.
Service typically sucks. There are always a dozen or so waitresses (or more) standing around and none of them ever seem to be assigned to where I'm sitting. I often see them fawning over men-filled tables. Obviously, I'm not one of the guys--who typically tip better, especially to waitresses--but that doesn't mean I won't tip well. I've waitressed. But that also means I'm not going to tip well for poor service, not matter how big her boobs are.
I go rarely, and only because I'm nostalgic. I recommend the same, unless you currently attend DePaul....if that's the case, you should go every week, possibly twice or more a week.
