Good Vibe

Monday, March 13, 2006
This joint is a cross between Belmont kids and Lincoln Parkers sick of places like Cherry Red. The dark interior is perfect; there's enough light to clearly see what you are eating and drinking (but not much more). The service is nothing special (not bad, not outstanding) and definitely better at the bar. Cheese fries are a must (real cheese, not sauce) and the steak salad--with accompanying jalapeno pesto, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes--ridiculously good. The wine and martinis, while a bit high-priced, are delicious; I like the Pinot Noir. Only jukebox in Chicago where I've seen the Snow Patrol album--so much better than this winter's British craze, Arctic Monkeys.
