Like the food and drinks, weird service

The food and drink selection (alcohol) is pretty good, but kind of expensive in relation to the type of place this purports to be (a casual neighborhood eatery/coffeehouse). The burger was good, as are the salads and one of my friends recommends the chicken sandwich.
Most of the beers start at about $5 (the good beer anyway), wine is $7 or more and the martinis, if I recall, were about $10.
There is a nice fireplace and plenty of seating; I'd like to return for brunch.
However, one of my experiences included a server who strongly resembled Lurch. He wasn't bad, just "looming" and slow-talking with minimal words.
