I enjoy going to this restaurant in Andersonville. The inside is warm-feeling, with soft-orangey lighting, brick walls and wood floors/beams. Even though the tables can get a little close, you probably won't feel crowded because the ceilings soar.
Reza's has a range of vegetarian- and carnivore-friendly dishes, both appetizers and entrees. The dill rice is a favorite of mine, as is the lamb shank which, at about $11, is one of the best lamb/cost/taste deals in the city.
Service is pretty good, but can be slow and, once in awhile, just a little surly.
The wine list is also not bad and can be very affordable. At times, certain wines will be discounted in order to make way for new wines.
The bathrooms are located in the basement and the stairs to get there are a little steep. The bathroom is usually clean, but nothing special.

A very consistent menu overall. The meat (lamb, chicken and steak) is decent, although not the best I've had and not very ample. Every entree comes with a lot of rice, which seems to be a trend with Middle Eastern-type restaurants. The menu also contains a good selection of vegetarian options, and the dolmeh with cucumber sauce is quite tasty.
The restaurant interior is nothing special, with standard-restaurant issue tables and chairs, and vinyl table clothes (I was there during the day, so perhaps they use cloth in the evenings). The decor is a little worn, and a little depressing; I typically order delivery from Andies.
Also available for delivery: beer and wine.
While I prefer Reza's, Andies is good for takeout (hefty lunch specials offered) and delivery.

One of my favorite places for brunch. It gets crowded and there's usually a hefty wait (hour or more), but the food is spectacular and the atmosphere is full of fun and excitement. The brunch buffet offers: omelets, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausages, bacon, sandwich fixings, cereal, pastries, fruit and more. Make your own Bloody Mary for a complete meal!
The servers are often harried, trying to clear plates and refill coffees, but are responsive to your request.

While you may have to walk here (metered and hard to find parking), Pasta Bowl is worth it, especially if you're starving and on a budget and just need to go out. Although prices have gone up in the last year, you can still spend under $15 on a glass of wine and a ridiculously large serving of pasta, often with enough left over for tomorrow's lunch. I'm a big fan of the "Bona Vita" Primavera: whole wheat spaghetti with a medley of veggies. Cappellini pomodoro and farfelle pollo are also very good.
No reservations and sometimes a wait, but this neighborhood spot is a worthy place to take friends and family, for an evening out with your bf/gf, or for delivery. Seating is limited, so not a good place for large groups (more than 5).

Service typically sucks. There are always a dozen or so waitresses (or more) standing around and none of them ever seem to be assigned to where I'm sitting. I often see them fawning over men-filled tables. Obviously, I'm not one of the guys--who typically tip better, especially to waitresses--but that doesn't mean I won't tip well. I've waitressed. But that also means I'm not going to tip well for poor service, not matter how big her boobs are.
I go rarely, and only because I'm nostalgic. I recommend the same, unless you currently attend DePaul....if that's the case, you should go every week, possibly twice or more a week.

For those of you who like to mix deserts with drinking, they serve Grasshoppers.
Second City also has classes for writing and improv acting. Definitely fun to see your friends perform their sketches after completing a class.

You could easily disappear in this store, which is a bit musty, a bit rough around the edges, and a bit messy (but in an organized way). Toys and galore for you, your little brother, your goddaughter, or whomever you're shopping for. I always find some useless (but fun!) trinket or toy that I just have to own.

The music is only good if you like listening to pop radio; the bartenders are quick to serve. Game days offer food and drink specials, and a lively crowd sometimes ghetto and/or frat-like (depends who's playing). The food is really quite good, and the burgers come with a variety of toppings.
Covers on weekend nights, and generally overpriced for what's offered. This place also gets a line and, frankly, is not worth it.

Don't ever use the upstairs women's bathroom. Ever! (It's definitely haunted--especially after 2 or 3 pints). The downstairs has a very ramshackle appearance, lending to the overall quaintness of the pub. The upstairs has another bar, 2 connected rooms and a rooftop patio with a tree in the middle (one of the most pleasant and relaxed "beer gardens" in the city). The owners are usually on the premises, and behind the bar, very aloof but friendly with the regulars. I recommend the fish and chips, shepherd's pie and scones, along with a Fuller's.

The service is nothing special (not bad, not outstanding) and definitely better at the bar.
Cheese fries are a must (real cheese, not sauce) and the steak salad--with accompanying jalapeno pesto, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes--ridiculously good. The wine and martinis, while a bit high-priced, are delicious; I like the Pinot Noir. Only jukebox in Chicago where I've seen the Snow Patrol album--so much better than this winter's British craze, Arctic Monkeys.
