Kitschy Goodness
Saturday, March 11, 2006
A long standing Upper East Side tradition, the Heidelberg is especially popular during the holiday season, for its ridiculous decorations and hearty German food. The food is great, and the restaurant is beyond kitschy (and features jokingly scolding waiters in lederhosen), but somehow it all comes together into some sort of odd perfection. It takes itself seriously so you don't have to. the service is friendly, if not always entirely accurate.
