DSW is pretty much a giant warehouse stocked simply with seemingly endless stacks of just about every type of shoe you could need. The good sizes in trendy shoes don't stay in stock long, but they have great deals on clearance items if you are the type of person who likes to add a little quirk to their wardrobe. The facilities are clean and the service and cashiers are all friendly and more than willing to help. And for the men, there are large flat panel TVs on the walls so you don't have to miss the game while waiting for your wife to find the perfect pair of shoes.

As a photographer, I was pleasantly supprised with the vast selection of products that Overland Photo Supply offers. The staff, while they come off as the Photo Nazi type, are actually very friendly and helpful, but seem a bit suspicious of the younger crowd (probably with good reason, photo supplies are worth their weight at any place you go) but their prices are pretty reasonable. For the everyday hobby photographer I'd stick with wal-mart for your typical film and digital camera needs as you'll save a dollar or two on the film you can find just about anywhere, but if you're really getting into the buisness, this is definalty the place for you.

Tired of your typical bar scene? Check out The Other Place. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and the food and drinks are delicious. It's a pretty well lit building (important for those of you who don't want to wake up with a "You don't look like the girl I brought home last night, so why are you in my bed." ordeal) Most of all, the people are really friendly. Everyone there is having a good time, grabbing drinks with the friends and watching the game.You can't beat that.

Great place to eat with alot of character. Largely portioned foods makes great fun for large family gatherings picking off each others plates and the floor is covered in peanut shells. The best bread in the area and wonderful, friendly, spunky waiters and waitresses to add to the atmosphere. Very loud with your typical Texas/Country decor. Great place for parents with messy rambuncious kids.

I'm an avid animal lover who came across an abandoned kitten. When I brought it in and explained the situation, they offered me a discounted rate (off their already affordable prices) since I intended on keeping the cat rather than turning it over to the humane society. This kind act of generosity has made me a customer for life. Everybody is really friendly and helpful and they've taken wonderful care of Ping.

For a professional feel to the daily "girl" routine, Beauty Brands has got it covered. It's caked from wall to wall with high end professional tools and beauty products with prices ranging from mid-range to way out of my budget. The salon is priced decently and offers a wide range of services including my personal favorite, eyebrow waxing for only ten bucks. It's a great place to splurge a litte.
