Support groups for new parents

Ann Keppler, RN (Tues and Weds) and Judy Herrigel facilitate these weekly support groups for parents and their infants at the Community Birth and Family Center. They are divided into age groups (birth to 12 weeks, 3 to 6 months, etc) and are held at different times of day depending on the child's age. You do not have to sign up for the classes and can drop in when you get the chance (it's okay if you're late!)---a $5 donation is encouraged with each class you attend. I have found these classes to be invaluable (esp with my first!) as a means of support and excellent, well-intentioned advice on everything from dispelling breastfeeding myths to answering questions about sleep and fussiness. I would encourage all new moms to try and attend at least one of these classes. Ann Keppler is a wealth of knowledge and kindness (she co wrote the book "Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn")!
