Even though I had to switch to Group Health a few months ago, I continue to think of Jorge Garcia as "my doctor." Dr. Garcia and the nurses at Swedish Family Medicine have provided me and my family such great care over the years. I went to Dr. Garcia during my pregnancy, and I really knew that he cared about me and the baby. When the pregnancy showed signs of complications, he didn't hesitate to introduce me to a specialist who he felt would be a good fit for me and my personality. When the baby was delivered by c-section, Dr. Garcia was there to provide me with reassurance, knowing I was nervous about the procedure. Overall, he is the most caring doctor I have ever met.

Salmon Bay Cafe offers great food in an appealingly (to me) gritty setting in Ballard's industrial zone. Unlike the more fashionable breakfast places, you will almost always get a table without any waiting, though the place seems to be full a lot of the time. I love the stuffed french toast. It is surrounded by fruit and looks like a party on your plate. The scrambles are also good; Jill's Scramble has spinach and related yummies all mixed up together. The wait staff will always be nice to you, a nice bonus. Kids are welcome. This is a great place to bring your out-of-town guests, as long as you warn them about the lack of ambience before you go.
