Hey it's Mc Donalds how could it really need to be rated right? Well this is a very special Mc Donalds and not like all the rest. No it isn't a great themed Mc Donalds like Rock N' Roll Mc Donalds or something exciting like that. This is just one Mc Donalds that stands out above the rest and if it was themed it would be "Lockdown Mc Donalds".
When I said it stands out I didn't necessarily say it stands out above the others because in this case it doesn't. However if you are looking for a TRUE authentic urban feel to your Mc Donalds visit then this is the store for you.
Once you wade through the see of drug addicts, homeless people and just generally bad smelling folks out front you will make your way in to find an on duty police officer, a very harsh staff that enjoys barking orders to the customers and (my favorite) a bathroom in TOTAL LOCKDOWN. Unless you have a receipt to prove you bought substantial amounts of food in the last ten minutes, you aren't getting in the totally secured bathrooms.
This is as close to eating in a prison as you can get and it is sure to be one of your most exciting and memorable Mc Donalds experiences. Don't miss this opportunity

New Orleans Restaurant is so much more than JUST a restaurant, it is an escape from Seattle.
Walking through the doors of the New Orleans is likely to transport you mentally to another place, the city of it's namesake New Orleans. Each night the blues and jazz are fresh and flowing. The musicians that grace the stage at the New Orleans are some of the finest in the world and they come from all around to play this great room.
The food is amazing with recipes brought over from New Orleans. Each menu item is fresh and made to perfection with all authentic ingredients and methods.
When you combine the amazing music with the great food AND the full service bar you have a great combination. This is a great place to take friends looking for less of a "club" vibe and more of a SHOW vibe. Come on down to the New Orleans and get a sense of what life SHOULD be like on a Saturday night!

There is nothing that Mrs. Fields or Mr. Spunkmeyer can do or so to get me to change my mind on Cow Chip Cookies.
Nothing in the world is more ridiculously satisfying than a massive 12 inch wide beast of a cookie dripping warm chocolate down your wrist while you break into manageable morsels to feed your clan. What's better is Cow Chip offers so much more than just your regular Chocolate Chip cookie fare, they offer a large variety of cookie flavors and they range in size from tiny one inch pieces to unholy abominations of cookie that more resemble pies than they do cookies.
Located on First Avenue in the heart of the Pioneer Square tourist triangle Cow Chip is a great place to stop at any time. Especially on the way down to a game at Qwest or Safeco.
Try it once and you will be addicted, and as long as you don't end up on the corner shaking that cup in my face looking for change to get your next "Cow Fix" then this is one addiction you can live with

Juan O'Rileys is no longer Juan O'Rileys, or the Aqua Lounge or anything like that, it is now WILD PALMS.
Yeah I know the name sucks and doesn't fit the place or the scene at all. A more appropriate name would be Deserted Palms as the club is D.E.A.D.
Upon entering you will notice right away the VERY strange setup that has future ultra violent incident written all over it. The bar is very small and manned by a single bartender, the dance floor is right as you walk in so you get a nice bunching up effect right at the exit/entrance which leads to all sorts of bad things.
The staff is mediocre at best and not the best that Pioneer Square has to offer. The music is urban most of the time and draws the crowd accordingly.
My last swing through of the club found it mostly deserted, a staff that had a problem understanding much of what I was saying and only a few girls in flowing mini-skirts that should have been imprisoned for even thinking about putting those things on.
Maybe this club can turn into something interesting in the future but right now it is not doing joint cover and therefore not worth paying for if there are a number of solid clubs nearby.
Maybe this turd in the pumpkin patch can grow into something someday, but right now it's just a turd.

The Catwalk is no more. This amazing demonstration in poor management and poor ownership has closed it's doors forever. Thank your lucky stars.
The Catwalk had a long history of over 11 years in the Seattle scene, during that time is struggled to find an identity. Shows ranged from fetish goth parties, to all ages indie rock shows. The owners of the club never truly established any kind of management or business model in 11 years. Hence the ultimate failure of the place.
I personally spent 9 months of 2005 working for the Catwalk as the in house talent buyer. I wasn't paid in that entire time and still to this day just feel happy enough knowing that these people are out of business. I know I will never see a dime of the money they owe, but I am okay with that as long as they are closed.
The bar lacked a manager, security lacked a manager, I worked as the production manager, but it is hard to manage anything when nobody cares about one another or respects each other.
Behind the bar 99% of the time you were met with serious attitudes and negativity. The holier than thou attitude frequently led to altercations and fighting.
Security was pathetic in every aspect. Piss poor and unprofessional is the only way I can explain it. Most of the time any and all fights in the club were started by security and most of those fights dragged out into the street because security did not know how to control themselves or act like professionals.
There is also a certain level of aesthetics that people expect when going to a club and having a bunch of dread locked street kids working in the place or just plain stinking the place up doesn't do it for me.
This was a great learning experience for me, it showed me everything you can possibly do wrong to run a business. Now that the Catwalk is gone and will soon be Heavens we call all sleep easier and dream about the next generation of club at 201 S. Washington. Heavens opens March 24th 2006

Most people think of girls dancing on bars, bartenders blowing fireballs and loud music when they think of the J and M in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square. There is so much more to the J and M though than it's nightlife.
During the day the J and M is a family friendly full service eatery with amazing foods dreamed up by Executive Chef Brian Payne. From Mango Stuffed Duck Pockets to Smoked Salmon Pizza that J and M offers real food without any of the grease of traditional bar food.
In the afternoon the J and M has one of the best happy hours in Seattle with cheap eats, cheap drinks and an amazing bar staff that will not only serve your needs but keep you entertained at the same time.
At night the J and M transforms into an honest to goodness dance club with loud Top 40 music, a great crowd and a safe environment to come out and have a good time.
SO the next time you are looking for something new to do take a little trip to the J and M and see what everyone is talking about.
