First of all, this place is open 24/7, which already makes it a super-fabulous place in my book. But the best thing about Big Foot Java, is their blended coffee drinks. You know how a Starbucks Frappuccino starts to separate as the ice in it melts? Big Foot's blended drinks don't do that. Something to do with the dairy product they use to blend everything together. They can make any drink blended. My favorite is the "Legendary Latte". The only thing I don't like is that they don't provide nutritional information (not there and not on their website). The barista was nice enough to read me the nutritional info off the dairy product they use for the blended drinks but she didn't have the info on the special syrup blend used for the "Legendary". Don't bother to get any blended drink made with the lower-fat dairy product they have available- it's not even close to the original and you'll only be disappointed. (Service is not the fatest but the blended drinks are worth the wait!)

I've been here several times and have always been very happy with the service. On a recent trip, I brought in a basket that I wanted to fill with (go-figure!) bath and body products for a gift. I was pleasantly surprised when the salesperson offered to fill it for me with some tissue paper and shredded paper on top for free! The store also always has great in-store specials going on. It's located in the same shopping area as Red Robin, Old Navy, and Babies R Us. Park on the Red Robin side, near Marshalls.

I recently tried this fairly new cafe-bakery type place in Issaquah. The sandwiches were yummy and I plan to go back and try their baked goods sometime soon, too. I believe they make all the baked goods onsite. It's an interesting place... basically a cafe/restaurant but no servers come to your table. You order when you walk in, then find a seat in the restaurant area (very cozy decor) and wait till the "pager" thing they give you lights-up. When that happens, your food is ready to be picked-up. You can get food to-go as well. It took awhile for them to make just two sandwiches but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because they're a fairly new place... Oh, and they've got free Wi-Fi, too!

Stride Rite lives up to it's reputation for quality- the shoes are designed for kids' feet based on lots of research and the materials used will last. This particular location has great staff who geniunely seem to like kids- they always get down on the floor and talk to my kid before measuring his feet. They even play toys with him while I'm looking around at our choices. To get your kid to walk a bit in the shoes, they'll often blow bubbles (the kids then all walk over to them). I'd say the average is about $35-40 for a pair of tennis shoes and though I don't normally like to spend a lot on kids' clothes/shoes, I believe that this place is worth it because you're getting a professional who can help determine the appropriate size and fit for your child as well as a high-quality shoe. My only complaint is that they're often out of my kid's size!

A coffee drive-thru has recently opened up on Lk. Wash. Blvd. near Coulon Park. I found the customer service to be great and the coffee to be fine... my non-fat decf latte was on par with Starbucks, which is not my favorite (a little bitter) but is okay. When I ordered my drink I forgot to say I wanted it iced. When the barista started to hand the hot drink to me, I said, "Oh, did I forget to say I wanted it iced?" and she cheerfully offered to make a new drink. I was impressed since this has happened to me before at other places and I usually get a little attitude. The location is on the right (when heading North) between the two Coulon Park entrances.

I was very impressed w/ the service I recently got from this place. I called-in an order ahead of time and drove there to pick it up 15 mins. later. It wasn't ready yet, but the staff were very apologetic and I could see they were extremely busy. When they started making my order, they realized they were out of a main ingredient and were even more apologetic, offering to give me two sides that I ordered for free. I never had to ask or complain for that- they just made the offer on their own. A lot of times these days I find if something goes wrong no one even apologizes let alone offers something free for my trouble. Besides the good service, I always enjoy the food.

This used to be a cute little tea room with pretty good food in Factoria Mall. The only weird thing is that, well, it was in a Mall! I recently noticed that they'd closed the place up and before recycling my take-out menu for them, I called the number. Turns out they'll be re-opening spring 2006 in... Sumner, WA! The pics on their website (http://sgtea.com/) look cute and I'm looking forward to seeing how the place turns out. I'll keep you posted!

One NE 4th, right near the post office, you'll find a Brown Bear car wash. There are several different cleaning options, and the cheapest one you can get is $6.99. In the same lot, there are also several big vacuums that take one dollar's worth of quarters (takes quarters only!). I'd bet most people can get their whole car cleaned in the amount of time it runs unless you've got kids! Then you'll probably need at least two dollars worth of quarters...

This shop/cafe is right across from Columbia Center. In addition to selling magazines, newspapers, and some books, they have baked goods, breakfast bagels, soups and sandwiches, and espresso drinks. The meal orders can called-in ahead of time for pick-up. They also have some seating available, if you want to eat/read in. This is a nice litte place that's worth stopping-in sometime!
