Utrecht often offers good sales and discounts on art supplies. So it is one of the art stores that I can afford to set foot into. They've got all the basic needs and the fancy stuff too. I used to teach an art class for under privileged teens, and this store was gracious enough to donate supplies to my class. I walked in to buy the supplies that I needed, and I think they spotted that I was looking to buy mass quantities on a very low budget. The cashier asked what I needed the supplies for, and when I explained he rang me up at no charge. He didn't even request a tax form so that they could get compensation for their donation. Its nice to know that people like that are still out there!

Urban tries pretty hard to be off the beaten path, and they do have a lot of groovy styles. Their attempts to be separate from the rest has actually made them sort of a trend of their own. Their style is something like thrift store meets boutique, meets fun fair. They've got a variety of funny funky household knick knacks and gag gifts, My friend got me a "grow a geek" for my birthday... get one for yourself and your best friend, these little geeks offer hours of fun! Oh yeah, always wait for the sales here. Don't buy at full price unless you've either just got a raise, or just broken up with someone and are in need of some great retail therapy.

I often recommend A and A to friends and clients who have a need for vacuum repair because they will not rip you off. They are often able to let you borrow a vac if yours is down. they answer the phone with a friendly voice and are a great example of what local businesses should be like.

This is a great way to satisfy a major chocolate craving. You must be serious about chocolate if you plan to eat here, because it is super delicious and the price reflects the quality of the product. I recommend trying some of their hot chocolate. It's fun to stop by at night, when the lights on Michigan ave so nicely.

I really like the fact that I can walk into this place and not be overcome by that annoyingly toxic smell of nail stuff. I don' t know how they keep it so well ventilated but they do. I've gotten the complete manicure which is great for moisturizing your hands. I had a slight problem with the way they filed my nails. I felt as though I could've done a more perfect job myself.

They do have great southern cooking, just like the one on Rush, but the place is a little cooped. I like the feeing I get when I walk into Heaven on Seven on Rush. There's more space to move about. And trust me, you'll appreciate that too after filling up on the many carb-based delicious meals that they serve. If your in Wrigleyville, definitely stop by. But, if you're in the mood for great New Orleans style cooking, take a trip to their downtown location.

Enter the Pope's room and you'll be greeted by a smiling version of John Paul, well just his head actually - It's protruding from the center of the dining room table. You can't get more fun than that, huh? The rest of the decor compliments this beautifully. You'll feel like you're in some kind of funky Bohemian inspired Italian Grandma's funky lounge. they leave no empty space on the wall! The food id good and a tad salty, but the portions are good and plenty and the prices are fair. Go there in a big group and get family style. You will love it!

Their icee treats are soothing on a hot sunny Chicago afternoon. I like the free samples that they pass out the sidewalk, but wouldn't really waste the time to stop in. They market it as fresh and "real," but they scoop the frozen fruit ices right out of a big plastic bin. It's not all that it's cracked up to be.
