Java Jones has the best coffee. They put Starbucks to shame. It's a little coffee shop in Isla Vista where you can find an interesting mix of people. Besides drinks they also have some munchies and candies to choose from. It's a good place to get some coffee and sit and study for hours, or you can sit outside and if you're a student at UCSB you're sure to run into tons of people you know.

Some people in IV say they have the best burritos and nachos but I disagree. They do have good food but it's their convenient hours that make it so appealing. They are open 24 hours, and conveniently located right next to where Bill's Bus drops off students which I'm sure accounts for a lot of business. Their prices are a little high but they do have generous servings and sharing is always a good idea especially at 3 a.m. when you and your friends are on your way home and starving after a night of drinking.

You can get everything you need to decorate your home at this store. My friends and I have bought furniture, lamps, plates, champagne glasses, tables, desks, picture frames and tons of other stuff. I like to shop there because they have tons of cute stuff to help you decorate. Plus, they have things at every price level. And if you have time you can browse through their huge showroom to get ideas, and on your way out you can get cheap eats like hot dogs or ice cream.

I always go this store despite the fact that half the time I get good service and half the time I don't. I went in last week to have some keys made and the girl watching over the self-checkout at the front of the store made a call for someone to come to the front of the store to help me. I waited patiently for what seemed like forever and the whole time I noticed that the store wasn't busy and there were workers walking around and a couple passed by me a few times before one guy stopped and asked if I needed help. He then made the keys for me right away and asked how long I had been waiting and apologized for the wait. The guy who made my keys was so nice and helpful while the girl I first talked to only made one call for help despite no one showing up and never turned around again to say it would be a while to get me some help. That trip wasn't terribly awful but it's just one of many more times that I felt like some workers were helpful and friendly while others were of no help.But I generally love Home Depot so that's why I continue to go there in hopes that the service will get better.

This is a good spot to stop by for some caffeine if you're browsing around the stores in downtown Covina. They sell needlework supplies but I only go for their coffee. But I must say that they only thing I ever order when I come here is the cold cappuccino, so I don't know how the rest of the menu is. But the best part of the cold cap is the mountain of whipped cream on top. I prefer to come here rather than a Starbucks because I never have to wait in a long line and the workers are always nice.

While I was taking a black and white photography class, I would stop by this camera shop for my supplies. It was a good place to stock up on film, paper, and everything else I needed to develop my own film. It probably isn't the cheapest place for everything I needed but film supplies are generally on the pricey side anyways. So you may want to shop around, but the staff here was always friendly and gave me good advice on what I needed.

I've only bought a few things there over the years because of the high prices but the place is so charming that I find myself going there to browse anyways. Although the merchandise is mostly "vintage" be careful of what you're getting. I bought a cute tiny picture frame from Target and a few weeks later I was in Vintage Dreams and saw what I believe to be the same frame (with a different picture put in the frame) for a higher price. But they do have a lot of cute stuff in there like purses with old pinup pictures put on. The ladies behind the counter are always super friendly and helpful. And don't go too late because like many other shops in downtown Covina they close early.

This is the best place to browse through new and used cds. They carry a variety of music and collectibles. I always buy a few used cds when I go. I've found that when I can't find a particular cd at any of the larger stores that sell cds, I can usually find it here. The staff is always nice and helpful. I love that it's in Claremont Village so I can easily get something to eat nearby and browse through the nearby shops.

I cannot say one bad thing about B C Cafe. They serve the best breakfast. My favorite dish is their strawberry pancakes because the sauce is full of chunks of strawberries. I also usually order their strawberry lemonade and it also has chunks of strawberries in it but I have to water it down a little sometimes because it's really sweet. It is usually full on the weekends but if you have to wait it's not for very long. Everything my friends and I have ever ordered was delicious from eggs or omelets to their frittatas. They have a large menu to choose from and the staff is always nice.
