I used to like going to Spike's. I always got either the teriyaki chicken bowl or the combo bowl that has beef. I thought it was good quality food, at good prices but I'm not so sure anymore. I've stopped going after having a bunch of not so great food there. My main complaint is about the chicken teriyaki bowl. I don't know if it was just me or bad luck but it seemed like I kept getting bowls that weren't very good. The chicken didn't seem very fresh. It was kind of dried out and really really fatty. So I can only advise on the one item. I don't know how the rest of the menu is holding up.

I don't think that they have the best pizza ever but it is good local pizza when you don't want to go out to get food. I like it better than Pizza Hut because it is less greasy and has a nice soft crust. The prices are a bit high if you just order one pizza but the prices are a bit better if you get one of their deals that includes at least 2 pizzas or keep your eye out for coupons.

You can't go wrong with Chuck E Cheese's when you have kids and want to entertain them. One important change that they have now that we didn't have when we were kids is that as you enter, your whole group gets hand stamps that match and when you leave they make sure that the kids stamps match yours. The food isn't great but hey, the pizza is good when you're hungry and your kids are having fun without you having to provide the entertainment. I would advise going in with a coupon. I notice that every Sunday the newspaper ads have coupons for Chuck E Cheese's so you can get a deal that includes food and some tokens for the games.

I love the ice cream cakes from Baskin-Robbins. It's a cake with a layer of cake with a layer of ice cream on top. They are way better than eating normal birthday cake, even if you have ice cream on the side, it's still not the same. You can choose from what the store has or you can order one choosing the ice cream and cake flavors, and also the decor that goes on top. Honestly, I have not had one that I didn't like. Whether it's chocolate or vanilla cake, or mint chocolate chip ice cream or strawberry ice cream, it is always good.

But you should go as early as possible for costumes because they sell out fast. And if you buy your costume elsewhere I would still recommend checking out Party City for the smaller parts of your costume. They have a lot to choose from like whigs, makeup, fishnets, jewelry and all kinds of stuff. They also have a lot of balloons to choose from and there is something for every holiday.

I love Old World because of the great service they have. There are two parts to this store. One side has pizza, subs, salads, and other foods with seating, while the other side is their deli where I come to get freshly sliced meats that make great sandwiches. They also bake bread fresh daily. My favorite breads are the Italian rolls, and the smaller hard rolls. They also have fresh Italian butter cookies. They have good prices and good quality food. Plus, the service is always great.

I have been going to Pasadena to ice skate for a long time now. It's cheap to get in and you can rent figure or hockey skates. I always just bring my own hockey skates because it lessens the ick factor. I'll usually drag along a few friends who have never skated. Sometimes there is a line to get in and I've gone when it was pretty empty as well, just depends on when you go I guess. There are people of all levels skating so you won't feel self conscious if you're just learning. I bring along light gloves when I go because my hands usually get a little cold.

I like that they have mini juke boxes at the tables so you can drop in a coin and select from the great oldies they have playing. But I usually prefer to sit at the bar. I always get nice, friendly service and they have decent prices.

So it's a good place to get some nuts if you like them or to get a good variety to maybe put in a giftbasket as part of a present. Good selection, funny store.
