The great cheap brunch is what I come here for, and it is SOOO hard to stay away (which I think is the point). They keep brunch going longer than most, and they fill it with wonderful muffins and such, not just the standard items. To top it all off, they do it at a reasonable price (including a drink). Can't ask for much more.

and not just the food. The food is actually better than you'd think. However, for those that need a "theme" to dine at a reastaurant, you might find it lacking in that respect. However, when I am hungry, I go to a place like Big City to grab a burger, sandwich or some pancakes, and they do the job I hired them for. Add a well made cocktail to the mix and I'm a happy person.

with the damn service. I know that I am not helping with it, since I continue to eat here, but I've eaten Afghan food enough to know how long it takes. So when I complain about how long it takes, I have given it ample time. However, the food is gorious, so I keep going back. The lamb kebab is my fave and I love everything (especially the yogurt dressing) the food comes with.

I eat Chinese food more than any other, so I know when it's good (and I know when it's bad). This place is over priced in my opinion. And if not overpriced, you're paying for the atmosphere. I don't mind paying when the WHOLE experience gives you reason to, but not when the entire reason that you are there seems like an afterthought. The best thing here was the drinks.

they put the word spicy first, so LISTEN UP! And it seems that they start the hot meter on blazing and raise it from there, so don't say that you have not been warned (they seem to love the chili oil here). I love spicy food, so it's a challenge for me to find something that is too hot for me. And I eat the peanut butter sweet sticky rice ball for dessert, but it's not on the dessert menu.

How can you have a place with such good food, but awful service? Is it for the tourists? First off, I would never dine in here, iI only order to go. And I call first. But the food is so good, regardless if you order the "normal" dishes or decide to go more adventurous with your choices, you'll be pleased (with the food, that is). But the service is simply horrible, like they can not stand to even look at you.

this place is sooo sleek, clean and bright, you know that they do things well here the minute you walk in. It serves a high end contemporary chinese menu and does it well. My fave are the BBQ spareribs (hot, hot, hot). I would come here just for the dessert, though: warm doughnut holes rolled in a sugar and spice mix.
By the way, it's pronounced "shing".

I swear, this place reminds me of a cross between a bottle of the reddest red OPI nail polish and a Hello Kitty store. I know, I 'm crazy. But the food is great. First you choose a cooked to order noodle (fresh or dried, egg or rice). Then you add what you want to it. WARNING: there's no menu to tell you what is what so go with what you know ( broccoli, turnips, shiitake mushrooms, chicken wings). There's more, but for the uninitiated, stay there. Here's another good piece of news: everything is only a dollar, so you don't care if things don't quite work out. I don't care if you don't even try the noodles, you HAVE to get some honey water.

There is a lot of hullabaloo over the soup dumplings. They are definitely good, but are not the only things to eat here. However, it is the least exotic. I would advise taking baby steps into the cuisine here. This is the best place to go if you're not used to it, since the staff is very helpful and cheerful.

this is a Cantonese fish house so they feature very fresh fish: eel, sea bass, lobster (the kids will love to watch them in tanks in the entryway). If you're planning ahead for a surprise (or you're in the doghouse-AGAIN), try the winter melon soup (which pairs mild chicken broth with items like melon, frog, crab and mushroom, then served inside a hollow gourd). It will be VERY appreciated, since it takes apporoximately 6 hours to prepare...
