The decor is big on surfboards and tiki touches, the bar has a thatched-hut roof and the atmosphere just screams out for drinks made with rum and pineapple juice (not that you maybe want your drinks made with them, that's just the feel of the place). More Parrothead Chic than Tiki, but you'll find a couple in some of the many locations throughout CA.
The prices are a bit expensive but it's pretty good and they offer good salads too. The restaurant can get crowded and the wait can be long so get there early.

This small little shop located in Los Angeles carries mostly funky newer vintage items. Nothing really unique about this business or out of the ordinary. The shop is small and they mainly do a mail order business. Shipping is fast and adaquately packed. They must be doing alright because they have moved from their existing location and have been in business for a number of years.

When you think of El Cajon it doesn't conjure up many good thoughts. However, if you've ever tried Perry's Cafe then you might change your mind, at least for an instance. Granted, it's not located in the best part of town but their food quality makes up for it. Perry's has been a staple in El Cajon for many years and it's clientele shows that.
Their breakfast menu is extensive and waiting can be at a premium if you go during peak breakfast times. The food is great and moderately priced and you receive ample portions.

I highly recommend trying the cream cheese wonton appetizer. They're perfect little sizes that you dip in the unique house special Pick Up Stix signature sauce.
Entrรฉes can be a little pricey but they offer a nice lunch menu that's available until 3pm. Their signature dish House Special Chicken is outstanding. You can never have a bad meal here. They offer take out and that seems to be what most folks do.

Located conveniently off the 8 freeway close to Hotel Circle, you can't miss driving by this hotel. Many functions go on at this establishment throughout the year including many banquets. The hotel is mainly known for it's tikis throughout the grounds of the hotel. You can look in many nooks and crannys and always find a tiki.
The prices are pretty good for San Diego, especially during the off peak season. Plenty of parking and good hospitality.

Balboa Park is a large park with lots of different attractions to see. The San Diego Zoo is located in Balboa Park along with countless museums, a, restaurants and beautiful grounds. The Park is beautifully landscaped and is a heart warming feeling just to walk the grounds.
It's very easy to find. Parking is plentiful even with the numerous activities throughout the year. Balboa Park is definitely something you need to check out at least once in your life. Many weddings take place on the grounds of the park.

If you're in to old roller coasters and boardwalk fun, then you should check out Belmont Park. It's been around for generations and has been remodeled and upgraded throughout the years. The only "real" attraction is the roller coaster and the fact that it's so close to the water. This is a great place to come with your family. Not only to walk along the beach but to ride the roller coaster.
Parking can be a hassle during weekends and holidays. Everyone parks for the beach parking and not necessarily the coaster.

A great restaurant that offers dim sum! The restaurant is very popular, especially at lunch time, so it's best to get there right at opening to obtain a seat. They have a fairly large parking lot but because there are other businesses in the complex, it can get difficult to find parking during peak hours. Sometimes street parking is the last resort on a busy street.
Great food and perfect for a large party.
