This place would be considered a dive in most places but some great musical acts have performed here over the years. Weekly they have different bands playing from every genre. They advertize heavily in the college newspapers along with the Reader so you always know what's happening during the month.
HOB is a good place to go every once in awhile to unwind and just have a good time. Prices are very fair and you'll definitely never forget the evening.

This is just about the last of the roller skate venues in San Diego. It's been in this location for generations and it's still as memorable inside as when I used to skate there as a child. Roller rinks are beginning to become defunct but this location seems to be keeping active. Kids still seem to want to rollerskate. The prices are quite different then when I was young but the kids still have just as much fun.

If you've lived in this area for any length of time you remember the old Foster's Freeze stores and the yummy soft serve ice cream you could buy. Well, I think this is one of the last remaining locations in the county. Still in it's original condition and location, when walking in you'll have the same memories as before. The soft serve ice cream is just as good as always.
Parking can be a bit difficult and the prices are not what they used to be but still quite fair. It's the perfect place to bring your youngsters to as a rememerance of your youth.

ORW as it's known in these parts, is a great place to shop for any accessory for (guess what?) your truck or off road vehicle! This is like being in a candy store for a truck enthusiast. Almost anything and everything that you could possibly need or want is in this location.
The store is hard to miss right off the 8 freeway. Easy to get in and out of and is on a popular street. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

This organization does a lot for the animal world and is definitely a place that if you're looking for a pet you need to check them out. A non profit organization that was founded in 1998, they have grown immensely over the past few years. They are committed to helping individuals with disability illnesses find a pet companion for life.
A wonderful program to get involved with if you have the chance.

The store is not in the best part of town but that shouldn't stop you from looking. This huge store is nothing more than a lower end furniture store. I didn't see anything special in terms of price and the quality is the same of most low end stores. The furniture might look good from far away, but upon up close inspection you'll see it's cheaply constructed and made of particles board or some other cheap material.
If you want quality you must pay for it and you won't find it here. The sales staff is nice and helpful though.

This shop hands down makes the best coffee in town. I was first introduced to Deidrichs in the Orange County area and fell in love with it. Their iced drinks are great with additional whip with chocolate shavings on top.
At some of the leading chains I've received plenty of crummy drinks that haven't been mixed or still icey, but Deidrichs is always perfection. I'lll go out of my way to go to this shop in any town. Try it and I think you'll convert over.

Most people head for the major coffee chain Starbucks but I like to give my patronage to the local coffee shops. Many times they make better coffee than the bigger chains and this is the case here. Their iced coffee drinks are outstanding and not made from mixes like some of the others. They offer great flavors and fast service along with the best coffee. My #1 choice anytime I'm in the area.

This production company cranks out some great shows and offers quite a few different one's throughout the year. This is the 10th anniversary for the company and their annual Halloween production Guignol X is a hit. It's a definite must see if you're in the area. No matter if you've seen it, you need to see it again and again.

After three & a half decades of service this is one of San Diego's last bastions of Traditional Continental Cuisine. They're famous for their Old World service, classic dishes that includes but is not limited to Imperial Pepper Steak (yum!), the Fresh Seafood Platter, Mock Turtle Soup a l'Anglaise (my favorite), and Rack of Lamb (which is made to perfection). Don't be disturbed by tableside flambés for classic dishes like Steak Diane & Cherries Jubilee. Or you can sink back in one of their red leather chairs in the Lounge & listen to the piano player.
