Pomodoro for me represents the epitome of good Italian/Mediterranean (mostly Spanish) food in a neighborhood restaurant for a good price. No, the ambiance isn't the same as its more famous Italian-food restaurant neighbor a few blocks down the street, but it isn't as pricey either. I agree with a previous poster that the carbonara and the fettuccine pesto are fantastic.
Other benefits are that it's rarely crowded and the owner (who waits tables most nights) is incredibly friendly.

No, the 14 Carrot isn't the fanciest breakfast/brunch place in town, but it's not the worst either. It's definitely a great place to hang out with friends and tell stories from the previous night, all while enjoying good coffee and food. I've lived in the neighborhood for over 5 years now and I can honestly say I've never been there for lunch, but I can vouch for the breakfasts. Definitely try the sun-dried tomato pesto benedict if you get a chance, and you usually can't go wrong with any of the other specials.
The wait can be long on the weekends after 9 am, but they have a few chairs and a coffe cart outside to help pass the time.

I love Mt. Baker. Sure, it's a long drive from Seattle, but it's totally worth it. How many times have you stood in line at one of the other resorts, wishing you were already on the lift? That never happens at Baker. I've been up there 15+ times this year and I don't think I've ever waited more than 2 minutes in line (and even that long is rare). Sure, no high speed lifts, but you know what that means? The slopes are never crowded either--they can only get a relatively small number of people up to the top in a relatively longer time, so the slopes can't ever get crowded. High speed lifts only help the ski resort get more people up on the hill faster. More runs with high speed lifts? I doubt it--I think I did 25 runs each Saturday and Sunday last weekend.
You can't discount the tremendous variety of terrain and lift-served backcountry access. The scenery is awesome. And there's something inherently charming about a ski hill where you feel like a local and everyone treats you like one.
What's your favorite in-state ski resort?

Edited post: They're still in business; they've just moved. You can now find them at 2046 Westlake Avenue North, Suite 102, 206.223.7476.

Previous post:I agree with all the positive comments about this place, but unfortunately they've gone out of business. I heard about it second-hand, but their store location is definitely vacant and all the boats are gone.

I like dive bars, and the Zoo is no exception. Some of the cheapest pool in town (and some new tables finally). Good beer selection with PBR on tap ($6.50 pitchers). The wait staff isn't the most talkative bunch, but the Zoo draws a very friendly neighborhood crowd. Old but functional (and cheap) shuffleboard, snooker table, real darts, Big Buck Hunter II, Golden Tee, pinball, and a newly-added Silent Scope. What more could you ask for?
BTW, no food other than potato chips. I'm pretty sure they have a small selection of wine, but this isn't really a wine-drinking kind of place.
Don't forget to say hi to the giant dragon on the way to the mens room...

Went here just before noon and didn't wait long to get my to-go order. The cashier offered me a "small" (by their standards; plenty big enough for me) basket of chips and some salsa while I waited. Nice touch! I had a regular steak burrito with hot sauce (which wasn't very hot). I've had other burritos I've liked better, but nothing beat the combination of size, quality, and price here. I'll definitely go back to try some of their other items. (And the line was out the door when I left shortly after noon.)

... which is a fun, upscale Mexican/latin/whatever restaurant. We went there on a quiet Monday evening in late February and didn't wait more than a couple of minutes for a table. We ordered some appetizers and a salad: the spicy prawns were *very* spicy but good, the crabcakes were very nice, and the scallops were awesome. Highly recommend all of them. Margaritas were excellent as well.

Stopped by last night with a few friends for some late-evening food and drinks. The veggie mac 'n' cheese was good, and I'm told by a very reliable source that the chili, burgers, and pork chop are excellent. (But what's with the peanut butter in the chili anyway?) The on-tap beer selection is good (which means average for most bars in Seattle), and they have a reasonable selection of bottled beer. They're dog-friendly as well, so you may see a few four-legged furry friends cruising around.
Oh, and you're able to order 40 oz. PBRs--in a paper bag, no less.

I popped in for lunch to go (chicken Pad Thai, the dish I start with at any new Thai place) and I was pleasantly surprised. I'd agree with Steve R. that the show in the open kitchen behind the counter is high energy, and I'd also agree with the statements about small space/long wait--I waited 20 minutes for my to-go order, and there weren't that many people there when I first arrived (but by the end, there were people out on the sidewalk waiting for seats).

I've lived in Eastlake for almost 6 years now and go to Louisa's fairly regularly, and I've never experienced any rude service -- but YMMV. The service can occasionally be slow, but within the last 6 months, things seem like they've improved. It's a little less crowded than it used to be (maybe because a few people would rather do the new corporate coffee thing down the street), so maybe that's had a positive effect on speediness.
At any rate, the food is great for what it is, but maybe a bit overpriced on some items (as some have mentioned).
Free WiFi too.
