The food isn't spectacular, but it's passable. The happy prices are good, and the view from the deck is hard to beat.

We had a good experience taking our 2000 4Runner to Clinton's for its 90k service. The check engine light had just come on as well, and they determined that the water pump needed to be replaced. (There were other signs that it was bad as well.) The guy I talked to said the engine light could be something else, but there wasn't any real reason to spend tons of time to track down something else when it may not be anything besides the water pump. Bring it back if the light comes back on, we determined.
We were told the 90k service itself could be done in a day, but when we found out there was a bit more work, we were told they might need extra time. Turns out they were able to do everything that same day anyway.
We called around to a few other shops (found on Judy's Book) and Clinton's estimates were in line with everyone else's. The final prices were right about where their estimates were.

The Beanery was the cool coffee shop hangout before there were coffee shops as we know them today. For me, it's still the epitome of what Starbucks wishes they were.

Great place to stop on the way to and/or from Ballard, or even before/after grocery shopping at Fred's in Frelard.

Duke's on Lake Union is probably one of the best-kept secrets on the Lake and in South Lake Union. The food is good, the service is usually pretty good, and when it's nice out, it's very difficult to beat the outside patio. When the wind is out of the north (like it is most of the time we have good weather), the floatplanes from Kenmore Air approach their landings immediately overhead, which is quite an experience. In the winter, sitting by the fireplace inside can be quite nice.
Car parking can be tough, but they do have pretty good temporary boat moorage -- although it's the best-known temp. moorage at South Lake Union, so it fills up quickly on nice weekend days.

My wife and I went with a friend last night and sat in the bar for dinner. I agree with other reviewers that the bar is way more fun--much livelier and more interesting. Every time I've been, the food has always been good. My wife absolutely loves the veggie lasagna, which I agree is one of my favorites on the menu. I love the Post Alley entrance -- you feel like it's one of those semi-secret places that not everyone knows about. In the summer, the outdoor patio is very tough to beat.
Our biggest complaint last night was the service. It just wasn't that busy, and yet our server had a hard time keeping up with us. When you have an empty drink when the entrees are served, aren't you usually asked if you want something else? I've been there previous times and don't recall the service being like that, so maybe we just hit it on an off night?

When BE first arrived, I was happy just to see a new restaurant in the 'hood. I'm a huge fan of burritos from places like TDM, Gordito's, Bimbo's, Acapulco Fresh, Agua Verde, etc., but I have to admit I'm pretty easily satisfied when it comes to this kind of food.
Sure, it's a hole in the wall with hardly even any room to wait for your food, but it's mighty tasty food you'll be waiting for. I think I've tried most everything on the menu and it's all good. The burritos are big and the tacos are small--both good signs. I think the barbecued pork burrito is my favorite thing on the menu.
I'll admit it seems slightly more expensive than most places like this, but that hasn't stopped me from going.

Great lattes, great music while you're waiting, very friendly service -- what more do you need?
Stop by one of Seattle's only surf shops next door while you're there.
