I have eaten at Rei Do Gado more times than I can count. VERY Low carb friendly for those of us following that 'lifestyle.'
Out of all the Brazilian BBQs I've been to in San Diego County, Riverside County and San Francisco, this is the best! For thirteen dollars and some change, one gets great variety at the salad bar/meal accompaniment spread AND some really amazing meats during lunch hours. My favourites are the bacon wrapped filet mignon, the chicken and the delicious sausage. You gotta try the sausage! It's just the right consistency of coarsely ground meats and perfect balance of spices.
After you've stuffed yourself silly to that point where you're kinda worried (know what I mean?), try the Brazilian flan. It's great! Oh, here's a tip for stuffing yourself silly: don't drink water, drink soda. Soda burping gives you some surprise reserve space to make that thirteen bucks and change well worth it.
Once you've decided you can't possibly have another bite, then I suggest taking a restroom break before leaving and then spend the next hour walking around the lovely Gas Lamp District of San Diego.

House Graphics offers inexpensive, quality design services to small businesses. Their specialty is first-time business owners, as their staff is very knowledgable about the demographics of the community and how to market and introduce your product or service to the public for the first time. They offered me many designs to choose from, all of which were excellent. The one I chose was an instant success, and is the still the design I use for my business.

I went to Huff Anna twice, and both times I left disappointed in my haircut. My stylist had the basics of my desired cut down pat, but the cut was never even when I left! I was always left to even it out myself at home, and it just wasn't worth the money I spent to go home and cut my hair all over again. The prices are higher than most salons and the stylists seem a bit dated in their technique. I won't be going back and I wouldn't recommend them.

Riviera has an entire section of their liquor store dedicated to local wines and microbrews. Along with that are little placards providing even more information about the county and city of origin, as well as information about the brewery and winery itself. There are copies of these available for you to take with you, and they're the perfect accompaniment for a gift to someone outside the city or state. The prices are right in line with other liquor stores, and this little bonus keeps me coming back to shop.

Holiday House has it all. The bed and breakfast is charming, and nestled right outside of San Diego, giving you a break from the city, but still close enough for a dinner out. The accomodations are spacious, clean, and the food is incredible. The owners serve mostly organic foods, including the coffee, and they offer a most unique service. You can hire a fishing guide right through the bed and breakfast, and the owners will then cook your catch for you that evening as part of a fried fish meal (or however you'd like it prepared). This was a wonderful weekend getaway and I'd recommend it to anyone who'd like to getaway without having to go too far.

A Digital House will take all of your old photos and film, in any format, and put it all on a DVD for you. The result is incredible. I had a ton of old photos that were badly preserved and would be destroyed if I didn't do something with them soon. A Digital House did an incredibly professional job of putting everything together in a very logical order (according to year) and even set the "slide show" to music I had chosen. I had 10 copies made for family and the price was cheaper than any of the competitors I had checked out.

Winchell's is wonderful little neighborhood bakery that's been in business as long as I (and my parents) can remember. They offer a huge selection of baked goods, but their specialty is donuts. Their cake donuts are fried to perfection every morning, and are incredibly cheap. You can usually get 2 for $1, and sometimes there's an even better promotion going on, meaning you can bring a baker's dozen to the office for less than the cost of 1/2 dozen from one of the chain competitors. The bakers here are clean and take pride in their work. Make sure you stop in early as the donuts sell fast.

The San Diego Museum of Art features, in my opinion, the greatest selection of art. The pieces are very ecletic and range from great impressionistic pieces to contemporary and cubist art. They have several rotating exhibits that change ever three or four months, and I make an effort to see each new one as it passes through. Admission is free on Tuesdays, but if you can't make it that day (it's usually really busy anyway, especially during the summer), it's well worth the price to stop in anytime. It's a great first exposure to art for children, as the museum is more child-friendly than most.

Teriyaki House's specialty is pretty simple to figure out. They simply have the best chicken and shrimp teriyaki that I've ever tried. I'm a big fan of Japanese food, and while Teryiyaki House might be lacking somewhat in menu selection, everything they do offer is of the utmost quality. The brand of sake served here is better than average, and goes down very smoothly. You can have either jasmine or white rice, as well as fried, and the jasmine is wonderful compliment to the teriyaki chicken dish. The food isn't greasy and the vegetables are fresh.

A House of Furniture offers a great selection of used and new furniture at prices that are increadibly reasonable. The pieces are all basic and there's nothing too fancy sold here. However, for those just starting out, this would be the ideal first place to go on your restaurant search. The used pieces are all clean and in mint condition. The new pieces might be factory seconds and have small flaws, but are overall in the same mint condition. The delivery is free on orders over $300, though you might be hard pressed to even spend that much.
