As you enter, the energetic yet subtle music makes you feel comfortable, and the cushioned reading nook just inside the door makes you want to find your favorite book and stay awhile. This isn't even mentioning the value on the shelves! The quaint bookstrore is neat, trendy, organized and unique. With everything from biographies to vintage typing manuals straight out of your 1960's grammar school, the creative displays make you want to browse each section, not just your favorites. The owner, Jeff, is friendly and went out of his way to help us find exactly what we needed, even outside of his store! The Earl is always busy -- make sure to note that first. If you head that directionafter 8 pm on a weekend night, expect to be standing around for a while in the bar, because it will be a while before you can sit down. A perk to this restaurant and bar, though, is their unique music themes. Last weekend, for instance, there was a 40's style crooner singing jazz music. The weekend before that, a medley of bands performed tunes from retro television shows. From Growing Pains to M.A.S.H., it was quite an entertaining time.

The mechanics at Riverbend Tire and Auto, especially Billy, are the kindest I've ever met. I have had numerous services and repairs in the past year, and they are always knowledgeable about what needs to be done and prompt with the servicing. There have even been a few times when I have had a quasi-emergency and brought my car in without notice, and they have been quick to help in every way possible. Even Judy, the part time, looks-like-your-grandmother-but-acts-like-your-best-friend receptionist behind the counter, is kind. Many a time I have been depressed at the high numbers I saw on the bottom of my bill, but Judy was always empathetic and on my next visit, even asked about my personal life. I couldn't be happier to be in a situation where I never have to worry about being conned by a mechanic!
